He was in the WWF. He is a gifted athlete. He had NFL try outs as well.

Brock has a college wrestling background and has recently made the transistion into MMA, he won his first fight i believe in EliteXc.

The bad news for Brock is that this isn't 1999 anymore were wrestlers dominate by laying and preying. You need to be versitile around the board now.

former national champion wrestler who tried to go into football but failed. he's most known for his time as a WWE superstar.

he's a powerhouse of a man, but lacks mma experience. he had one fight against a can in K-1 whome he beat quite badly. took him down, passed, and pounded out his first and only victory. he's now signed w/ the ufc. he's trained w/ royce gracie..but not for very long. i'm not sure who he's w/ now tho.

He didn't fail. He walked onto the Vikings practice squad, which was unexpected in and of itself. He also made the squad despite being in a severe motorcycle accident a month or so earlier.

He was offered a contract to play in NFL Europe to get allow him to get seasoned (he hadn't played since high school) before going into the NFL. He chose to turn that offer down and pursue MMA.

Saying he 'tried to make it in football and failed' is the opposite of what actually happened. He simply didn't succeed on his own terms, which is go from football novice to NFL pro over the course of 6 months.

Ok thanks. I have no idea why i thought it was EliteXC.
That's because K1 Dynamite USA was a copromotion between K1 and EliteXC. It also wasn't a HEROS event.

so he had a long and successful professional football career...thats basically what that means ... :wink01:
So when you said 'whatever man,' you really meant to say, 'It bothers me so much to be wrong, that I'm going to make a post that makes it seem like I don't care, only to run back to post again when I finally think of something that can kind of pass as a comeback?' Did I get that right? ;)

Yes, that's the practice squad part. He was on the Vikings team during that time.

I certainly cannot speak for what his true meaning was, BUT It reads to me like he really could care less, and finds the whole idea of brock lesner to be pathetic, and sad, much as myself, i could be wrong, but thats what it sounds like, however please continue to prop up lesner as his skills are so superb after awhile you might actually make yourself believe that, meanwhile I think I am gonna go puke while thinking of his NON skilled self involved in the octagon with REAL MMA fighters.

Theres no doubt the man has skill, he could possibly be one of the greatest wrestlers coming into MMA, Im just not feeling all the hype hes getting about him destroying the HW div and powering through everyone.

Cause when you think about, the HW div prob has the most experienced guys, theres no way an 1-0 fighter is gonna outclass them in their own home.

Amature wrestling Standout. Professional Wrestling Standout. Considerably overhyped MMA fighter

Brock Lesnar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Video K-1 Dynamite USA: Brock Lesnar vs Min Soo Kim - MMA, Lesnar, Brock - Dailymotion Share Your Videos
YouTube - Brock Lesnar vs. Akebono
YouTube - Brock Lesnar Vs Bill Goldberg (Steve Austin as referee)

PS:Yes. Well maybe, Hes MUCH bigger then AA, and AA has a glass jaw, but I say for now he would only take him down and hope for a tko or dec.
thanks for that vid. i've wanted to watch that fight but never found it. he doesn't look too bad at all, albeit his opponent is a can. but eh, i do believe he'll be a force to reckon with.

and i'm still in awe at how people disrespect wwe guys so much. sure they're working for a fake wrestling organization, but these guys are STRONG ATHLETES. with proper training, they can beat anyone. you look at the ufc guys. take a look at rich franklin: he was a teacher before he became a fighter. first impressions would be, "this guy is a joke, wth is he thinking?" and look at him now, a well accomplished mma fighter. a person's background doesn't tell the whole story.

It's not so hard to see why ex-professional wrestlers get a hard time. Putting aside the issue of the cheesiness of it, there is the fact that

a) Although professional wrestling is a physically demanding activity, it is much more like stunt work on a movie than combat sports

b) Most of the professional wrestlters are primarily or even exclusively gym monkeys, so their only oustanding physical attribute is large, clearly defined muscles. This doesn't even guarantee that they will be particularly strong.

You can see why people would have some doubts about the ability of a profesional wreslter to transition to a combat sport.

thanks... could he beat... say... arlovski ?
Id have to see it, we just dont know what kind of a chin he has to tell the truth. Set that aspect aside and its very possible he could beat him on the ground even though I think he might make a mistake and get sub'd he could use his strength and speed to pound out a standup fighter for sure. I would think any fighter he come up against would try to push the pace in the standup and see what he's got for a striking game.

If he has a good chin and some ok striking he could be very hard to beat IMO.

I find it interesting that neither one of you can stop posting about something you claim to care nothing about.

I simply pointed out facts about Lesnar. I never said he would do well in MMA.

You gotta be kidding me

are you guys crazy, Lesnar is one the greatest collegiate wrestlers to date. He came out of Minnesota and any amatuer wrestling fan knows J-Rob is the most nuts guys when it comes to conditioning. This guy would have a gold medal if McMahon didn't wave a bunch of money under his nose. The best heavys around the world weigh 220. this guy is 260-270 and that's a ripped 260. Get real, and welcome to the future of the heavy weight division. Only Fedor can stop this guy and that'll be a war.
