Overcommited to the take down much? Such a quick tap too. I figured Mac would take it though. Not sure what Serra was thinking with that match up. Would of liked to see him fight George.
Hughes may have only 2 guys left, but i still think he is going to win the show with Mac. I think his biggest threat is Ben just because of the size andvantage. Skillwise George will be tough for him but I think Mac takes that fight .
I don't think Serra made a mistake in that matchup, he's trying to get his best guys as far as possible. Why else would he match up George and Hightower?

I like mac as a fighter alot more after this fight. I guess it's cus I hate guys that just look for the takedown to gnp. Mac stuffed every attempt and schooled him in the process.
I don't understand Serra not trying to take Mac out now. He is going to have to try sooner or later, he bascially purposely put through a guy on Hughes team.
Well, this was the first episode and fight I actually enjoyed this season. I've been rather 'meh' with things up to this point. Danzig showed some decent takedown defense, kept active, feeding elbows to the body and head that looked downright painful for Jon, and came out without a scratch on him. While watching him I thought "damn, this guy will be so easy to inject into the WW division, I don't understand why he's not already there."
All in all a fun episode to watch. Looking forward to the double match next week.
Danzig is definetly my pick to win the whole show. He seems to have the most skills all around and the most experience. He has fought on the big stage before in Pride. I think he got KOd by Sakurai but thats a pretty tough fight for your first on the big stage. I think he is going to be a force in the UFC in a year or so. I bet he will be moving back down to 170 for it.
Yeah.. Mac is the best guy on Hughes' team, possibly the whole show. I don't think anyone on Serra's can beat him, and John probably had the worst chance, so it was a good move to let John fight him.
That was the most impressive showing of any fighter this season thus far. Mac dominated him the entire round before sinking in the RNC. He kept very busy -- hitting Johnny with everything while successfully avoiding the takedowns. Go Mac!
That was simply fight school 101. It was a total joke. The only guy who I think would have been worse is Richie, cause he is a little emo geek (was that convo with Team Hughes serious?).
I will say that all of these "Mac is unbeatable" comments are a little much. I think George is pretty talented and will make for a great fight with Mac.
I also just want no satifaction for Hughes, I just cannot stand him at all.

Serra knows that Mac is their best fighter and you can tell by the way he talked about the fight that he thought Mac would win. He was hoping Johnny could pull an upset or at least wear down/beat up Mac a little. Basically he gave his best fighters (George & Arroyo) the easiest fights and hopes that there other guys can take out Mac & Tommy.
Serra will probably only put George in against Mac in the final and that's the best thing for the fighters and the fans. If he put his best guys against Mac, win or lose the crappier fighters (on the other side of the bracket) will get into the finals. Noone wants that.
Mac is good but you guys are exagerating a bit much, he basically had a guy hugging his leg the whole match allowing him to soften him up with elbows so easily.
I tend to think Mac is overrated, I mean he is good and probably is the best on the show but the way some people talk about him you would think he was Joe Stevenson or Pulver...maybe I am missing something but I could take him or leave him in the UFC.
As for fight it was what you would expect of a guy trying to shoot in on a guy with said guy having the experience and know how to stuff it. I was surprised it took Mac so long to get something done-read above comment.
Mac is probably the best on the show, but there's people who can and might beat him. I think Ben has a good chance due to his size and George could take it as well.
The last fight was a good showcase of what Mac can do versus a guy with piss poor takedowns and bad standup.
Mac did well against a dumb ass, but hey he does have what it takes to go to the finals. I see Ben and Mac for a final with Ben winning by decision.
Mac should go down to 155 after the show, he will be punished at 170lbs by bigger guys in the UFC, and might stand a chance at 155.
I guess I will put it here, I don't think Mac's going to finals, reason, the damn Blog. I think its interesting that Joe Lauzon was supposed to go to the finals last time and he didn't and then BAM he is writing a little blog after each show. I am beginning to think if you got a Blog they want to keep you fresh in the minds of the hardcores maybe casual fans but you lost out and didn't go on the Finale.
As for Canadaian Psycho I just don't see anything great about Mac Danzig, or I guess I am missing the hype on him. If you want to PM me some matches or post them here then please feel free. I also think his matches have sucked b/c of the extra weight he usually fights at 155 lb. I would love to see Danzig/KenFlo or Danzig/Lauzon so maybe I can take him
