I just watched it, and I've got to say I'm really confident in my picks.

Frank Mir's striking looks much better than it has in the past (especially compared to Lesnar's loopy punches), and he's training with a world-class wrestler, similar in build to Lesnar. I also think Frank's fighting attitude is much better than Brock's, as Brock Lesnar repeatedly says he "doesn't care" about Frank's BJJ, when I think he should be more concerned about that than anything.

I'm also really confident in picking Nogueira over Sylvia. Nogueira's training his stand-up with Anderson at Black House, he's spending more time on his wrestling (thank God!) and he looked in incredible shape, working like a beast. Tim will obviously come in shape to fight 5 rounds, but his training really looked tame compared to Nog's, his stand-up looked sloppy even in sparring too.

This card's going to be great, I can't wait.:thumb02:

What did you guys think?

There's a difference between trying to sell yourself as an asshole, which from reports I've read was Brock's initial goal; and coming off as if you couldn't care less about your opposition's trademark, and style.

It was smart of Mir to bring in a few HW wrestlers, and test their style if in the position to stop him. After that he has a general idea of Lesnar's attack while on top, and will likely look to shoot and catch him in the midst of a change.

Lesner is going to want no piece of any standup fight, His knees look aweful, and his kicks are worse. He doesn't roll his hips AT ALL and he doesn't even connect with his shin or follow through. My kicks have more power and I wiegh half as much as him. His punching looks slow and shite too. He's deffinately trying to make Mir think he's going to stand when he's not at all.

I was just about to creat at thread on this. After watching this I feel a tad different than I did before. At first I was unsure about Mir beating Lesnar but figure dhe would win. But after watching the show, I am very confident that Mir is gonna take Brock to school. Mir looked to be im pretty good shape and seems to have his legs back. He was moving real well and his striking looked fast and crisp. I just dont see how Lesnar is gonna win this fight. If Lesnar wants to stand and bang with Mir, Frankie will bang him out. But most likely Brock will resort to his stregnth which is his wrestling. Bad move by Lesnar. He may be able to avoid most of Mir's submissions early on just stregnth alone. But as the fight goes on I see Brock gettin sloppy and Mir catching him in a triangle. This will be a great showing for Mir, and it will be a great adddition to HW division if we can get a healthy Frank Mir back in top form.

As for the title fight. Before watching it, I was pretty confident in Sylvia winning a UD. Now, not so much. Nog looked real good in training and I too thought Sylvia looked slow and sluggish. I think Nog will do enough on his feet to keep Sylvia off balance in a simlar way that Randy did, eventally getting a takedown. This is where Tim is usually very good with his submission defense but Nog is a totally different animal than he has faced before. I see Nog getting a hold of a leg or foot and finishing off Big Tim in the 2nd or 3rd.

I was really impressed with Mir and Nogeuria too, enough for me to expect big things from them.

If Mir is truly healthy and in shape he should smoke a 1-0 fighter who comes from college wrestling he did 8 years ago.

Something else, Nogueira is getting more time to prepare for his fights now that he's in the ufc. Different from the 3-5 months he would have in Pride, with Grand Prixs and whatnot. Couture had the perfect strategy and camp preparing for Syliva, I hope Nogueira follows the blue print. Nog is 6'4 240 too, not as big as Sylvia but bigger than Verra and Couture.

Tims gonna come and pull the same punches. not gonna see anything new from him. Miletich fighters are all one trick ponies.
Nogueira has his work cut out for him.

i still cant decide on lesnar and mir. sure, mir is putting forth the effort... and yes, lesnar comes off as cocky... but anything could happen here. I say if brock doesnt win it in the 1st, then he loses the whole thing.

Basing how a fighter will do in the fight from some extremely short clips of thier training sounds pretty intelligent to me.

I just watched the show today and I gotta say it didn't change my mind one way or the other on Mir/Lesnar. Mir has been too inconsistent recently to make me put money down on him and lets face it Lesnar has been training for two years straight on everything. Kind of creepy Kurt Angle on the show too...he put it best Brock has been training for nine hours and doing it right the transition that is. I am still confident Brock is gonna shock a lot of ppl.

As for Sylvia/Nog I gotta long time Pride/Nog fans has his right eye always looked like that? I mean the thing was half shut in the interview and I think a left hook from Tim that Nog won't see could end it early for him. Other than that I think that is going to be a freaking war.

Brock FTW!

What you don't understand is that Frank Mir is going to be so distracted by the giant penis tattooed on Brock's chest that it will allow Brock to KO Mir first round.

I liked that they had Kurt Angle's comments in there.

So far I am liking the footage they included in this one and the overall direction its being displayed in, it makes the hype for this event skyrocket for me.

2 former Champions fighting for the title, this is gonna be nuts.

I haven't gotten past Lesnars footage yet cause of our gay ass wireless router, but I'm working on it.
