I don't know if this will produce any correlation to the two sports, but I am a wrestler and I did some submission grappling with a guy that has done judo for the same amount of time as I have wrestling, and i controlled him/subbed him every time we grappled.

Id rather have wrestling. Just gives you a wide variety of moves, along with a great all-around physique. Chix dig wrestlers. Althought they probably like Jiu-Jitsu guys more, after all they got that north-south position down and know what to do when they are in someone's gaurd :thumb02:

Well wrestling negates alot of grappling arts. A wrestler with good sub defense can give a BJJ guy a world of trouble, and a good Greco Roman dude can hold his own against a Judoka. As well, freestyle kinda beats Greco in that freestylers can use leg TK's and Greco's can't.

Wrestling, along with BJJ and MT are the three fundamental disciplines of MMA, any other art is merely your own personal style.

Eh its not really that he's older per se, just that Marx's nickname is the "father" of modern communism, so i thought it would be fitting :). Plus when was the last time you saw a picture of baby Lenin? Amirite?

Wrestling in MMA > Judo in MMA

Im not an expert in either so dont quote me on this. Im just judging by the amount of top guys in MMA and there seem to be way more succesful wrestlers. Im not saying Judo sucks, but look at all the guys with a wrestling base. Id say over half of all MMA fighters have a wrestlng backround.

First off , I really hope that's not how you really spell Jiu-Jitsu. Second, if i were you i would max out on MT and the JJ and make those two your main thing, then when you find a good wrestling camp join up and learn the craft. Just my 2 cents.

Welcome to the forum, duuuude..

Further -- Some members have very great opinions on this forum. They are demenstrating this now. Bare in mind, that ultimately, the PRACTITIONER makes the style. The only reason we haven't seen Wing Chun dominate up the MMA rankings, is because no one gifted enough in the art has made it up there yet.
