This has always been a tough one for me. On one hand, it would be entertaining as hell. On the other hand, how fair would it be to a great fighter teamed with an average fighter?

I also think that in the end it would result in the sport becoming to WWEish.

For me, I would have to say nay to the multiple fighter idea.

well it certianly would not be a strikers games

OK how about a team competition where the first two members start in the ring and go until one loses and the next member of his team stays in kinda like a relay kinda thing, team with the last men or man remaining wins, but there are no breaks and such just back to back action??

It will be super cool if we had tag teams!
Like Matt hughes and Sean Sherk vs BJ Penn and GSP!
I wonder how the fight would go? WOuld people try to keep it standing or on the ground where they are more vulernable.
Imagine if they had weapons!!!!!!!!!!!:D :D

P.S. If tank abbott was in it he would own everyone:D

Other then the weapons since we really do not want to turn this any closer to Roman Gladatorial combat then it already is a tag team format might be an interesting idea but might be hard to work I think the idea of replacing a fighter with a new fighter after the old one is out is a more workable idea.

Yeah but i doubt any of our crazy ideas wouls happen......To dangerous with like 4 guys going at a time......I doubt anybody would want to do it.
But that would be cool! Tag Team Titles.

Maybe but people would get to tired and would take to long

P.S. We did that with wrestling takedowns for my school team

yea it does take long and thats kinda where I got it from but it was in a martial arts class I was in but were were using Bokken ( hard wood Katana Shaped swords for those that do not know) the fights were pretty quick and we did apply to general sparring as well fights went longer but it was more exciting espically when a guy was in ther e2 or 3 fighters in a row you can get into a rythm or just get tired by that point it could be interesting, any out ther ein training schools suggest trying this in a controled enviorment in your trsaining hall and see how well it works It would have alot of advantages in training as if you have to fight 2 or 3 people back to back it will help with conditioning, learning to conserve your strangth and energy when need be, and since every even those who train together have different styles strengths and weaknesses you will be facing constant variety. if any one does try it let us know how it works.

My guess is that UFC wants to stay more on the side of Boxing as opposed to Wrestling. Although both sports are very successful, i think UFC sees itself as "youth's answer" to making boxing more exciting. So they steal the youth audience away from WWE and turn it into a highly-profitable, more corporate-style, event series that has more flair than boxing.

Therefore i think anything that resembles WWE (multiple people in the ring, tag-teams, etc.) will be avoided.

Although sounding like an entertaining idea...

This would be one of the absolute worst things any reputable MMA organization can ever imagine considering. The reason why the Tag Team idea works in Pro Wrestling is because Pro Wrestling as a whole is worked. No one is in there without some sort of co-operative understanding of each other. All this takes is one unfortunate fall, an extended period of 2-on-1 and someone is going to get hurt badly.

If you thought the Boxing supremists had something to bitch about before, just one of these matches would prove all of their "barfighting/non-sport" touting soliloquies correct.

OK I think the tag team style match is out we pretty much all agree that it would not work but no one has said much about a one on one style match that has teams that when someone losses the next member of his team enters until one whole team is out.

The idea of having more then one-on-one is rediculous and we all know that.

The idea of having it relay style say teams of 3. Having a sucession of one-on-one fights were the winner stays out with a short rest (a little longer then the one between rounds) until one team is complete eliminated would be very cool, however I doubt it will happen.

They could take an idea from Judo, at some Judo tournaments I've been to they have had team fights. Teams of 5, but it's just 5 one-on-one fights and now that I think of it PRIDE has done that with the bushido team main events for quite some time now.

I like the IFL format, with teams that compete against one another and the team with the most victories moves on to the next round. It does kind of screw over some of the fighters but it is not a completely bad idea. It drives the fighters to fight harder for themselves as well as the rest of their team.

What, you mean like 3 guys all for themself? That wouldn't be good unless it was for the number one title contender. Fighters would be less focused and would double team on other fighters and start doing all this crazy s---. But what would be cool is it would be more bloody and violent. And a final bad thing is the referee might fail to stop the double team and they would just kill the person they doubled teamed on due to their strength and all that. It would be disorganized.

2 on 2 And they will mix up each round

Tito Ortiz 1 W Silva
Team Team
Ken Shamrock 2 Arona

Then they switch it ORtiz Arona Shamrock Silva

Or they could have it a 4 way both fighters are fighting at once and then they switch around lol.

Either it's team or Against each other it would be exciting and would be amazing

i cant picture an mma fight with more than 2 people. for example lets say its a 3 man fight one guy takes another guy down and then whats the other guy gunna do stomp both of the other fighters out or stand there and watch neither of those would be fair.then what would be next they do it like gladiator games style where there is like 10+ fighters on each side brawling it out. maybe fighting animals or something. my point is these thing while probably would be cool as hell 2 watch are never gunna happe.
