HIIT recovery

On Sunday I tryed some short sprint interval training and it pretty much slayed me. On Monday my stamina was worth null and my legs were stiff. Today my legs are even stiffer, but my lungs are feeling better. How long should it take to recover from HIIT training? I also have a kung-fu class today and was wondering how much of a bad idea it would be to go.

Make sure you're stretching after you work out, and take an extra day off if you have to for now. I'm sure after your body gets used to this type of training, the recovery process will be easier. Also make sure you're getting a full night of sleep and eating enough.

I walk/ride it off.

I do HIT training for running and cycling , I make sure I stretch afterwards, rest up and not do anything intense for the rest of the day.

The next day I stretch again, and I just go for a walk, or a light cruise on the bike. Nothing hard, no sweating, not heavy breathing. After the walk/ride, stretch it out once more.

You just want to lightly move those muscles moving.

Thanks for the advice.

I got 9 hours sleep last night, and I've been stretching quite as often as I feel I need to today. Turns out however, I actually have a very minor cold. :angry04:

Been drinking lots of tea to sweat the bugger out and loads of water, I'm sure I'll be good to go for weight training later on today.
