Yeah, it was dumbed of me to say there is no way it will happen in Feb 2007 at the Pride event but did anyone else hear the exchange between the President of Pride and Dana White on the Bubba the Love Sponge show? They didn't sound like they were going to be doing business in the future at all. Especially on that fight.

Yeah I heard that but I also heard the conversation end with an invitation for Dana to come sit ringside and Dana accepted but wasn't there tonight... so I really don't see this happening anywhere other than a UFC event.

Oh silva came out after i think butterbeans fight which should have been left off the card it was so terrible (along with alot of the other 1 sided MMA fights on prides card). Anyways he came out sayin how he challenges Chuck to strap up the leather and fight him in feb on PRIDES next show in america.

I find it funny how chuck and wanderlei come out ON UFC and say they're going to fight then it doesn't work out. Now silva thinks its going to work by him comming out on PRIDES show and acting like Liddells dodging him. I hope they fight in UFC or PRIDE and Chuck takes his head off.

I wouldn't mind see'n ol cro cop take off silvas head again with that missle thai kick he threw against cro cop in GP.

The conversation between Dana and Pride Prez on Bubba the Love Sponge was interesting, its on the internet I would search it out if Pride v. UFC intrests you. I thought it was pretty bad business to air their bad blood on a radio show but they did. Nothing good for the fans came from it. They basically just hurled insults back and forth. Dana kept making fun of Silva for getting "executed" in his last match. Pride guy kept saying Dana was completely responsible for the fight falling through and Dana was very dodgy. And that invitation for Dana to sit at the Pride event....I think its pretty cynical.

Plus, did you see the UFC ran 4 hours of ultimate knockouts against the Pride ppv? Pride and UFC ain't gonna be buddys.

This fight will never happen at a Pride event on USA soil. Dana would be retarded to let it go down and he isn't when it comes to business so it will not happen. UFC brought Silva to there event and announced the fight and a deal never got done. Now Pride gets Silva to go in there and call Chuck out when he isn't there trying to sell there next PPV. Not happening, the only way we ever see Chuck vs Silva is if it happens in a UFC or maybe in Pride but over in Japan which I highly doubt abd Dana would be crazy to do it.

UFC said:
yea chuck already went over and fought in pride time for wandy to stfu and not worry about money and come fight in the octagon if hes so tough

why would he do that... its chuck that called out wanderlei for a couple years now...

like wanderlei said..

"you talk to much... come and fight.. or stop talking.. if your not gonna fight.. dont say my name"

Chuck called out Wandy back in 2003

...This is getting ridiculous. On the other thread "Wandy just called out Chuck". I stated the facts. Chuck called out Wandy back in Pride Total Elimination 2003...and I quote " I'll fight Wanderlei Silva tonight, just give me 1 round". All this hype, just check the thread for an excellent take of mine.

If they were to fight, I rather in happen in Japan in front of 70k people rather than here in the USA in front of maybe half that at most. But yea it's really unlikely that fight will happen due to business politics BS.

BTW, Chuck is like what 37? I hope he gets in as many good fights as he can. For any fighter, it's a shame if they can't say they fought the other great fighters in their weight class during that time. If both fighters will make a push to make the fight happen and both organizations are willing to compromise, maybe something can happen?

Sad to hear Dana and Pride Prez were bickering on the radio. I'd hope they could be more professional that that instead of trying to imitate WWE.

Let's not forget that the choice of venue is crucial to each fighter also.

Chuck needs the fence. It is one of the most critical parts of his takedown defense. You know how he squirms his way back up it. Chuck would be foolish to fight in prides ring and Wandy wants the ring so Chuck will have a hard time bringing the fight back to his feet if he gets taken down.

That probably has a lot to do with the posturing both organizations are doing.

I wouldn't say the ring or cage would make that big of a difference. It would be a standup fight. Wand is not a ground fighter, he prefers standup even against guys he would benefit from taking down, such as Mark Hunt who is a great striker but has zero ground skills. I thought it was nuts of Wand to fight Hunt that way but he did.

I dont think Dana White would let Chuck fight over in pride because he would be getting offers and stuff but Chuck is going to stay with the UFC until he loses that title. After that I don't know.

Yeah, Dana wouldn't let it happen over there.
But Chuck himself has said if he beats Tito ORtiz he wants to move up to HW maybe, or check out Pride again because he doesn't feel like he is getting good fights in UFC

I am so sick and tired of all the exchanges of words and everyone talking about them I almost don't wanna see the fight. Silva vs. Liddell is probably the most talked about fight in all of mma and will probably never happen. I feel like I am in high school again and all these people are the school talkin about the fight that MIGHT happen after school and everyone is excited. But in all reality the two are just trying to show how big and bad they are trying to scare the other into not showing up. Pride vs. UFC, Silva vs. Liddell it's all a big show and we all fell into the trap of the war of words. We are all part of the ratings game and I am tired of watching this soap opera drama play out before my eyes. Fight or don't fight, get it over with! :cheeky4:
