So....anyone else have mixed feelings about Cro Cop's performance?

I was excited to see Mirko fighting again, as he's one of my favourites to watch. However, there was really no doubt that he was going to win as he was being fed Mizuno (which translates into "big can"). It's nice to see him win, but really that win doesn't mean much aside from a lapse in his string of defeats.

I thought he looked extremely tentative and still quite flat-footed. I still think that if he fights like that in the UFC, he's going to continue losing. Remember the Cro Cop that was really quick on his feet? Constantly going in and out, with ridiculous accuracy? Will we ever see that again?

I really hope so, because it will be a travesty if he continues fighting the way he does. He'll keep losing in the UFC, and either give up fighting, or finish his career off fighting cans in Dream.

Come back Cro Cop, we miss you. </3

I don't know how to feel about that fight. I'm glad Cro Cop won but you can't really take much away from the fight because the other guy didn't really do anything. I liked the knees though.

Yeah I agree with you guys, the knees were probably the only thing that surprised/impressed me. I don't know if we've really seen that from him before.. those shots he landed while Mizuno was on his back were hard as hell.

I don't think I'll find confidence in Mirko til he beats someone legitimate again.

A few things about this fight gave me a real sense of conflict with Cro Cop. He has stated in the past that he wants to put on more weight to compete with the HW division of the UFC. A few factors to consider when putting on weight....don't gain a belly it's not going to help your stamina...How much muscle mass are you willing to gain in sacrifice of stamina and speed?....Would cutting weight and coming in ripped @ LHW be a better fit?.....He trains in a cage, why not fight in one.

I honestly think Mirko's best fit if he's in the UFC would be Light Heavyweight. He could cut weight, and be a lot quicker on his feet with striking and takedown defense. If Mirko puts on too much weight whether it is fat or muscle I think he's going to sacrifice too much speed and stamina when he gains that weight. It seems like he really likes the heavyweight division but in my opinion LHW would be a much better fit.

I gained nothing from that fight. I didn't think he was flat footed or any of that stuff you wrote Fedor>ALL I just thought he beat the crap out of a bad fighter.

I mean I don't think there is to much you can read into this fight besides the fact he kicked the crap out of a guy who shouldn't have been fighting him. This fight doesn't prove Mirko is back but it doesn't mean his career is dead either.

He looked slow and still didnt have the explosiveness that he had in his Pride days. Im sorry boyz, but we can officially start to make funeral arrangements for the Old Crocop. I think he went the way of the "Old Vitor" :(

I mean he was fighting a complete can. I think if he looks like that against a solid opponent he should've trained for then I would agree with you but this guy wasn't any good.

No he didn't look agile and active but he didn't need to I find it hard to base anything off a fight like this.

What was up with the stupid shorts? He looked pretty chubby as well, definitly not the lean Mirko we used to know back in 04-05. He also looks pretty sluggish and flat footed.

I also didn't gain anything from that fight, and as much as I love Mirko, this was really low, the dude needs to pick it up and get his standards and mind right. If he fights another nobody, thats it for me.

Hopefully DREAM isn't stupid and realizes Mirko can be a force again and actually gives him name opponants. But other than Mirko and a bunch of nobodies, who does DREAM have in their HW roster????

I think Cro Cop looked alright, but it's kind of hard to gauge because of the opposition and length of the fight...
He looked to me like a bear that had just awoken from hibernation and was testing the water before jumping in...
Also, Cro Cop is going to be 34 this year and his speed is naturally on the decline. I don't think we'll being seeing the same fighter that we saw just a few years ago, so hopefully it's one that is even a smarter fighter than ever before...

I didn't think he looked bad at all, I liked his knees and also liked the leg kick from the clinch... that was cool. He looked bigger and idk if that's the best idea for him, I think he should worry about being quick and explosive not bigger and stronger.

I don't think he necessarily looked bad, I just think he's going about the winning thing the wrong way. It's just like you said, he shouldn't be concerned with bulking up, that's not what lost him his UFC fights. He needs to desperately find his feet again, what made him so dangerous before was how explosive he was. He wasn't nearly as flatfooted before, and against real competition he's going to get bullied unless he starts moving again.

The kick inside the clinch was cool too, definitely didn't expect that and the knee. :D
