You beat me to it, I was just going to post this.

I think the article put a real negative spin on this and used some of the people that were interviewed to attempt to portray the sport as geared towards ********.

These stupid reporters are going to have to recognize sooner or later that MMA is being widely excepted and not just by the blue collar crowd.

Yeah I agree the reporter made it sound like it was just nonsense violence. I see no problem with kids starting when they are younger, as long as its regulated a little lighter than us grown ups haha. I wish MMA was big when I was growing up id love to have trained in it. I would like to train now but I have such a busy schedule it would be hard to fit in just 1 hour.

6 year olds should not be training MMA, I think until a kid reaches at least 16 they should not be training in martial arts, boxing or anything like that, they dont know how to control there emotions, I remember a couple kids I grew up with who trianed pretty heavily in boxing and they would use that to terrorize there classmates, thats bullshit in my eyes.

The Pros and Cons on this favor both sides really. I've seen kids with bad ADD or ADHD put into MMA, Kickboxing, BJJ etc. etc. and become much calmer and off ridiline.

And like toxic posted above there are the kids that push there weight around. I could care less what age kids begin to train at, they just need to learn fighting is a discipline and should only be used in self defense, at the gym, or in the cage!
