 LFMFAO @ this thread. AHEM....sorry.

HA! 98% of these numbers are complete & utter bullsh!t. You'll have to excuse me for not believing all this crap....

Only cats I believe are: wukka & C.S. - and that's because of one reason: I've seen them do said number.

Period.

I agree, Unless this forum is favored by some Olympic weightlifters i doubt many people are telling the truth.

I could have said a bullshit number if i wanted but i said the truth and although i can only do as much my weights let me(Isn't that much) and i don't know my top but i highly doubt i could even close to what most people are saying.

Really? I have to work at it?

You seem like an absolute BEACON of knowledge when it comes to weight lifting! WOW!

Do you have any other tips for me, oh wise one?

185 is my one rep max so I don't know why that's so hard to believe. I've been lifting for 3 years and I just got up to 185 about a week or so ago. Plus I hate bench-pressing. If I could I'd completely leave it out of my routine and stick to medicine ball plyo push-ups

I didn't mean every response Zach. You know, just the ones where...you know...a clone weighing 145, and puts up 295 lbs. HAHA....yeah, ooooooooooooook! Trust me, I saw your progression photos, and read your posts in here - you're well on your way. So, it wasn't so much your number...just the majority!

Whenever you're in Toronto, let me know, so we can train together. Hardly anyone at my gym ever goes and visit the squat rack and or do compound movements, I'd like to train with someone that actually like powerlifting.:)

I bench 185. I weigh about 160 so not too impressive but I dont lift very often, I just like training other ways. I benched 220 when I was a sophomore but I played football then and was always benching. Now if I did a bench workout I would be sore for like three days. I actually am not even sure I can get 185 anymore, but I think I could still get about that. Geeze, there are either some liars, or strong dudes on here, mostly everyone is around 300 it seems. Not taking anything away from that but I am much stronger now than when I was a sophomore even though I bench a lot less, I feel that there are just better ways to train in terms of wrestling and mma.

Seems like people either make up fake numbers or are crying because they bench 5 or 10 pounds more than they way.

technically your considered a strong person if you can bench your body weight, most of the country cant

no reason to be upset if you cant bench as much as TB, hes a freakin competitive weight lifter. hell Im pretty fuckin strong benching 310, and weighing about the same as him, but im also a soon to be professional fighter and hes still way ahead of me.

get real people. the threads not for going on a whaampage.

Well i consider my bench really really weak for my size but then again i am making huge gains and am only 16.

just for the hell of hit i squat 335 right now and deadlift 315....and do skull crushers at 105

I bench 200 now, so I went down 5. One interesting thing is I only weigh 164 now. I weighed in the 180's for a few months, then I stopped weighing my self or working out at the gym as consistently (doing different type of work outs at home) and I'm down to 164? It makes no sense to me.

I actually used to do quite a bit of bench press because I was obsessed with it just like everyone else, but now I don't do it as much and when I do I just do dumbell bench. My fear was that I would begin losing flexibility. IMO stretching should be utilized by more people just because flexibility helps with altheticism just as much as lifting. People reach their 'max bench' goal, and then they realize they can't put their arms above their head. lol. I call those kinds of people 'squares'.

When I used to press, like 2 years ago, I maxed about 175 or so. (wighed 150 at that moment). But then I started grappling, and I since I gassed so much I had to focus more on enduraence training.

The highest I ever got was 225 for a 3 rep max but that was years ago when I was playing college lacrosse and in great shape. Haven't done a one rep max since high school. My legs have always been stronger and my BP was never that great. I weigh 208 but I haven't gotten past 135lbs. on BP for over a month b/c I've been training to do a triathlon(this coming sun. 5/25) so it's just been endurance high rep workouts.
