Like ^ he said , if Melvin can keeep the fight standing he has a goood chance, but i dont seee that happenening , i see Melvin spending so much energy on stufffing takedowns that he gassses in the 2nd and gets taken to schoool from there, Slammed and G N P stoppage

Both of these guys have fought at WW, Sherk had only lost to GSP and Hughes, Guillard lost to some lesser fighters.

I think that both will be animals at LW, but I have to give the fight to Sherk and to be honest I think it would be a crushing win at that.

i have to disagree

i think melvin got some brutle blows..that sherk could hang with but just see melvin taking this one but who knows i think its too close to call

I'd have to disagree also

Guillard has a definite reach advantage... could be the Sherk vs GSP all over again

winning by strikes automatically makes one a good striker?
I raced a 94 civic with my 2006 V6 camery last week and I won. Does that make me a good racer?

I didn't see any great strikers on that list of opponents. Guillard isn't a great striker. Great strikers are Kid Yamamoto, BJ Penn, Liddell, Crocop, Anderson Silva, etc. People that can knock anyone out at anytime and have skill in that department. Penn is a bit of a stretch, but certainly a very good striker.

Diaz trained with the Gracie's his striking sucks. He just has a reach advantage ove everyone. He is the Tim Sylvia of the WW division.

Sylvia's striking sucks too. His technique is terrible and angles are even worse. He just jabs, jabs, jabs, then cross. Then backs up and does it again until his opponents try and move in on him then he jabs them away (5 feet away because of his gorilla arms).

Nick Diaz is not the best striker in the world but to say hes not a good striker is just a strait up lie....hes an all around fighter

agreed! in my opinion, Diaz is not a good striker. i too wouldn't go as far as saying that Gulliard's striking is great... but it a hell lot better than a lot of other fighters, making him at least a good striker.

i think Melvin would win the first round, but it seems like he gasses and doesnt respond well to adversity.. Melvin has a great chance in this fight but i see him losing a 3rd round tko..But i wouldnt be shocked to see Melvin KO Sherk

how can you say diaz's striking sucks, hes the same height as robbie lawler and lawler is a great striker and Diaz picked him apart, to say diaz has no strikes is just ignorant
