Brown...Ehh? Not for Real

Brown tries to act like the biggest harda** I've ever seen. I loved May's attitude towards the fight, it was utter entertainment. You could see how embarrased Brown was we he faked to hit May at the weigh-ins and Jeremy did not so much as even flinch. Even before this Brown was quiet, and questioning how May could really be a decent fighter because he knew nothing about him. He is truly nervous i believe at heart. If May didnt gas, he would have won hands down. Brown threw almost no punches until May had gassed, no counter-striking no nothing, just huddled away. It seems like all of these TUF guys come in with anything in the tank when it comes to conditioning.

I don't see any reason to think that May would have won the fight if his conditioning hadn't failed. Yeah, he threw all the punches for the first 2 minutes, but they were sloppy and almost none of them landed.

Brown, while he didn't do much in the early minutes, did the smart thing by biding his time. He wanted to make sure that May wasn't sneaking in good strikes with his sloppy ones. Once it was obvious that he wasn't, Brown started taking it to him.

May just didn't look impressive, even beyond his conditioning.

Don't pull the "what if" game, it's never-ending and doesn't prove anything.

Anderson does the same thing actually. He's very slow in the first couple of minutes and then starts striking. I don't know why people always find some thing to complain about. :dunno:
I completely agree.

Some people on these boards feel that if you don't come out every round going full speed that you are somehow out of shape or a poor fighter. I say that Brown did things right. He wanted to see what May was going to offer him, and when he realized that it wasn't anything more than a quick flurry of inaccurate punches, he stepped up and took May out.

Who cares if Brown didn't counter punch...it's not always a wise tactic to take in a match. Any punch leaves you open. Brown won by unanimous ass-kicking. Enough said.

...that's not the point. Brown would've done the same thing.

"BIDE his time" doesn't mean wait for the guy to gas. It means wait until you've "felt out" his style. That's what happened.

That's just his personality. That's how he had to act to survive growing up. Don't get me wrong I also hate it when 'turds' act hard but this dude is actually a hard ass.

That's actually what I hate about May. He's 'that guy' who tries to act like he's not scared by being flamboyantly loose, he's the guy who's acting.

Looked like a normal weigh in to me.

yeah, may was just throwing sloppy haymakers and hes really long and awkward and it took Brown a minute to adjust. The guy who made this thread is just a troll, I suspect he is the newest version of someone like Tito-fan or bjj boy or whatever.
BJJBoy wasn't really so much a troll as a kid that was taking the forum WAY to seriously.

But yeah, this guy seems to like drama. He creates threads with the purpose of arguing.

You must be referring to the post fight interview when May was saying that Brown got lucky in that fight. Your are right, May is a funny guy. That was highly entertaining.

Yeah, Matt Brown has won two fights on the show so far, finished both of them, been nothing but classy throughout the whole process and he still has people doubting him. Either way, he has proven to be a big draw, as I havent seen this many people talking about TUF in a long time. One of my favorite fighters.
