I was thinking Sivla for the moment is untouchable. So who is #2 in the MMA world?

Paulo Fihlo
Robbie Lawler
Yushin Okami
Patrick Cote
Rich Franklin
Dan Henderson
Other, Who?

Don't know how to post a poll. I tried to, but it didn't work.

I'd say Franklin but he's moving up to Light Heavyweight.

It's a toss up between Fihlo and Cote, but I'd also toss Akiyama into the mix.

I gotta go with Rich. Unfortunately, he'll never get any higher in the rankings(obviously), and all the up-and-coming talent means he won't stay at #2 for long. Guys like Jacare and Akiyama should be moving into the top five in the upcoming year.

I'd like to see Lawler fight Anderson, he seems to have an extremely good chin.
He does. Just don't tell Nick Diaz.:wink01:

Hendo just hasn't impressed me at MW. He looks much more dominant at LHW.

I would say without a doubt Rich is number 2. Filho and Okami would be my next two. Just look at Rich's record though on wikipedia, soooooo much green except for those anderson silvas.

Henderson at MW doesn't do it for me. The dude is way more bad ass when he fights at LHW. Look at the Henderson vs. Rampage fight, that was a Henderson that went 5 rounds and looked solid each round. Henderson vs. Silva, looked like he gassed early and couldn't keep up with the pace. While he was MW/WW in PRIDE, he wasn't consistent and didn't look like the beast that he was a weight class up.

I'm thinking Rich Franklin. He's got a hell of a resume. And outside of Anderson he's never been tooled.

If any style was his cryptonite. It's Andersons. Tough break for Franklin.

Henderson hasn't done anything lately other than beating Misaki in early 06 (Which Misaki avenged later on). He's far from the number 2 MW.

I'd pick Rich Franklin to be number 2. He holds wins over guys like Lutter, Okami and MacDonald and has been beaten by the number 1 guy twice.

However, if Rich is moving up to 205 for good, then I'd say Filho.

I could be wrong but I don't think he is going up there for good.

My vote would be for Franklin also.

Everybody seems to forget about Matt Lindland these days when talking about MWs. Sure he was inactive for a while, but he never did anything to lose his top 5 spot. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and put him at #2.

Damone you can look at this thread two different ways, who is the 2nd best Middleweight fighter in the world? (How they are looking at it) Or, who is ranked the 2nd best MW in the world (How you are looking at it)

EVEN THOUGH, I wouldn't be able to put Matt Lindland at number 2 (either way) since his last fight he looked pathetic, but I know some people definitely felt he was the 2nd best Middleweight in the world before that fight, myself included - Although I wouldn't of ranked him there, because with ranks you have to use a fair system and can't just go by how good they are.

Who would I rank 2nd? Rich Franklin, who do I think is the 2nd best MW in the world? Too tough right now.

I gotta agree about Lindland. If it weren't for his last fight, he might be #2. I don't think you can put Franklin there since he's LHW now. Filho and Lawler are too untested as far as the competition they have been fighting. Henderson makes a much better fighter at LHW, which is where I think he will go next. So that leaves Cote and Okami. Cote sucks, so I have to go with Okami. He's improved, and I think he's the toughest fight for Silva at 185, even though I think Silva will still beat him. Oh and Bisping #2 is just retarded. He's not even in the top 10, even if he does destroy Leben.

I see Franklin as the number 2 in the world and I dont really know who I feel is. Palhares has a lot of freaking potential and I really look forward to his fight against Hendo. Kampmann has always looked good but hasn't been very active.

Who is the second best middleweight in the world? Well I'd probably have to say Franklin. Aside from mental issues he may have now, he is probably the second most skilled. Henderson or Akiyama are up there as well..

Who would I rank at number two? Really hard to say, because the division is so open right now(aside from the number one spot). It would probably be between Hendo and Franklin again. Akiyama is a wild horse.

Keep in mind, these are two different questions.
