Randy Couture recently spoke to MMAWeekly.com and offered the following on what he thinks he needs to do to beat Brock Lesnar at UFC 91 in November:
“When you get stuck underneath those guys, I don’t care how good your jiu-jitsu is, they’re not going to give up submissions, they’re not going to get caught,” he said. “So now you’re down there underneath a big guy getting hit. I think I switched back to that wrestling mentality where when I get on my back, I want to scramble, fight, scrap, do whatever I have to do to get off my back, just like I would in a wrestling match.”
“I think that’s something I have to be ready for, (to) be elusive and stick and move, force him to miss and force him to charge, come after me and be able to move out of the way,” he said.
“He is what he is,” said Couture. “He’s a big, strong, athletic guy, and that’s the strength that he’s going to try to rely on. The rest of the changes in technique are going to be fairly subtle. He’s only had a couple months since the last fight. There’s not a lot of time to develop a bunch of new tricks. That’s the reality of the situation.”

I don't know if you can be elusive enough to defend Brock's takedown. At least not a guy as small as Couture, who will probably be manhandled if Brock can get a hold of the lower half of Randy's body.
I hope he becomes fast friends with Lyoto and soak in all the lessons of being elusive from Machida. I doubt he'll be as quick as Lyoto though given that he's been off a long time and a year older.
I have a bad feeling for Randy on this one but over the years, I've seen plenty of smaller/weaker wrestlers get the takedown and once on top, dominate the bigger/stronger guy. It is possible and I'd love to see it happen
i dunno dude, i'm pretty sure Lesnar could benchpress couture no prob, literally throw him off his side mount, and as for being elusive, Brock is much faster than Randy, and it's really hard to be elusive in the cage when the other guy can run you down in a second, Randy is not Machida. Randy WILL end up on his back, and he'd better be damn sure he's able to get back up, wrestlers are notoriously in-effective off their backs.
I'm hopefull. I'm pretty sure he could bench him as well but I'm sure Randy knows that and will do everything he can to not match strength. I'm hoping he gets him on all fours and is able to stay on top and pound away.
pleeeaaaaaaaaaasssseeee dont start that. i do not want this to turn into a fedor thread. keep it lesnar and couture. and a better comment would be that asian dude fedor beat is nowhere near the athlete lesnar is.
