FEG president Sadaharu Tanigawa on Saturday unveiled the company's plans for its annual year-end Dynamite!! event. K-1 Dynamite!! 2008 is bucking the recent format and will combine bouts from FEG's K-1 World Grand Prix, K-1 World Max, K-1 Koshien and Dream brands, according to a report from Nightmare of Battle.

The report states that Tanigawa believes that the combined fight card will likely consist of 15 to 20 bouts.

There were several fighters on hand for the announcement. Mixed martial artists expected to take part in Dynamite!! 2008 include: Joachim Hansen, Hayato "Mach" Sakurai, Kazushi Sakuraba, Shinya Aoki, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Mitsuhiro Ishida, Masakazu Imanari, Takeshi Yamazaki, Atsushi Yamamoto, Kuniyoshi Hironaka, Ikuhisa Minowa, Kiyoshi Tamura, Seichi Ikemoto, and Yuichi Nakanishi.

No bouts have been announced at this point, but sources indicate to MMAWeekly.com that Hansen is likely to face American Top Team fighter Gesias "JZ" Calvancante at Dynamite!!

K-1 kickboxers expected to participate include Musashi, Yasuhiro Kido and Yoshihiro Sato.
Hopefully they put out a siiiiiiiick card.

FEG announces New Year’s Eve supershow featuring DREAM and K-1 combatants

By: Jesse Holland

For fans of Japanese MMA, 2008 is going out with a bang.

Fighting & Entertainment Group (FEG) President Sadaharu Tanigawa has confirmed the scheduling of a New Year’s Eve supershow featuring participants from DREAM, K-1, K-1 MAX and K-1 Koshien.
FieLDS Dynamite!! will take place on December 31, 2008 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, and could feature as many as 20 fights.

Fighters scheduled to compete are Joachim Hansen, Hayato “Mach” Sakurai, Kazushi Sakuraba, Shinya Aoki, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Mitsuhiro Ishida, Masakazu Imanari, Takeshi Yamazaki, Atsushi Yamamoto, Kuniyoshi Hironaka, Minowaman, Kiyoshi Tamura, Seichi Ikemoto, Yuichi Nakanishi, Yasuhiro Kido and Yoshihiro Sato.

Also expected to participate are Norifumi “KID” Yamamoto, Caol Uno, Hideo Tokoro, Masakatsu Funaki, Katsuyori Shibata, Junichi Sawayashiki, Taishin Kohiruimaki, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, Gegard Mousasi and Hong Man Choi.

While it’s hard not to be excited about the endless match-making possibilities for this event, one name noticeably missing from the list of superstars is the 12-1 Judo sensation Yoshihiro Akiyama.
Akiyama, one of Japan’s biggest stars (and heels) is no longer under contract to FEG and is reportedly negotiating with both Sengoku and the UFC.

Therefore, at the very least, an appearance for DREAM on December 31 is unlikely as the two sides are currently not on the best of terms.

Still, with so much talent in one night, nothing short of Godzilla himself could diminish the anticipation for this event. My only hope is that FEG can make arrangements to televise the fights on pay-per-view (PPV) and not some cable channel that nobody can seem to access.

Who knows, maybe they can even pencil in some of the recently unemployed Elite XC fighters who are looking for a home. And does anybody want to lay odds on another meaningless cameo from Fedor Emelianenko?

Stay tuned as this massive event continues to take shape.

This is getting better and better and definitely some sick match-ups and kickass fights could come from the deep talent pool of fighters. :thumb02:

Little sad about the K-1 participants.

If Dida isn't fighting in either MMA or K-1 I'm going to be real sad.

This looks good though I can't wait.

Although no Akiyama is sad.

Tons of talent, they could put together an absolutely stunning show! Actually glad about Akiyama though because there is a small chance that he could land in the UFC. :cool02:

*Edit* Dont know why there is a thumbs down above my post :(

Farewell fight for Masato then?

I demand a third match then.

Can't happen. Artur made the semi's last year, finals this year. So next year he is gonna win, simple math. :thumb02:

Well I didn't really think it mattered seeing as it's MMA and K-1 combined, probably more so MMA.

EDIT: I'll move it anyway, the K-1 section is pretty dead at the moment.
