Wow, Jules was BAD, he talks alot of smack and his standup is horrible, his ground game worst he got submited in 5 second... hahahaha...
On Vinny, I dont see him winning TUF with that kind of standup, was he scared of Jules or what ? This guy might be really good on the ground, I dont see him taking a volley of punch.
IMO, it will be Bader vs Marshall vs Krystof, there is no way Vinny standup can save him against those guys
Vinny has some serious kicks. If he can worry more about landing those, along with a few punches here and there, he may well become a complete fighter in time. That said, you can tell that he doesn't want to eat a jab, himself, and this is likely holding him back. You don't get into MMA expecting never to eat a shot. Or two.

I DON'T THINK HE WAS SCARED OF JULES AT ALL. I THINK HE WAS TRYING TO THROW HIM OFF, BUT REGARDLESS IT WORKED, CAUSE JULES DEFINITELY MADE THIS THE WORSE FIGHT FOR SURE. HE DONE NOTHING AT ALL...SAD!
vinny has one hell of a ground game I though he was going for a gogoplata as well but that was an awesome arm bar.
prop to jules for not going off on team nog after the whole body bag thing. He has a good steady mind set and doesnt let his emotions get the best of him which is something all the elite fighters have.
Jules sucks and should quit fighting. He doesnt have what it takes mentally to be a successful fighter and you could tell he was just afraid in his fight against Vinny.
As for Vinny, he has really good jiu jitsu obviously but his standup could use a bit of work. He is very strong/athletic and landed some great kicks, though, and with some teaching Vinny could be worked into a more complete and successful fighter.
TBH I wasnt all that impressed with either of them. Both of their stand-up looked subpar and they both looked really gun shy the entire fight. Vinny wanted no part of getting hit and I have no idea WTF Jules was doing that entire fight. Jules damn near put HIMSELF in that armbar and TBH that was way overkill setting it up like that on Vinnys part. He couldve easily finished him with a textbook armbar, instead of what looked like a failed gogo. Eliot Marshall takes that fight with him no matter where it goes. His Jiujitsu looks much better (yes you can tell quite a bit by about 10 seconds of grappling, and that arm was fed to Vinny) and his standup is way ahead even if it ISNT the best. Only person who I see eeking out a decision over Eliot would be Bader and I think that'll be tough to do
I agree. Vinny may have sick BJJ, but he will never take it to the ground without more agressive MMA. Jules looked horrible. Nervous or not, he threw like 3 jabs, and kept his distance the whole time. WTF?
Vinny will fail until he comes to terms with the fact you may eat a shot or two in this sport.
Jules looked horrible.I dont think it was his technique, he just had a really bad case of stage fright. He just froze up out there.I dont think he's cut out to be a fighter.
Unless Vinny takes his next fight to the ground, I bet he's going to lose. Everyone knows hes afraid to take a hit. The next guy he fights will be more aggressive. Jules was just scared the whole time.
Which is my point exactly. He has learned a ton about BJJ, and has the skills to be a great fighter, but until he puts it all together, he has not accomplished anything in MMA. He has the skills, he needs the heart and the determination to make it in this sport.
It's like, he knows the moves, he just does not know how to execute them in a fight.
After lasts nights performance against Vinny last night, it was clear and evident Jule Bruchez didnt stand a chance. Bruchez's bio states he is a black belt in karate and a judo student...hmmm...interesting. Last night he looked more like an amateur boxer against Vinny Magalhaes. I know Jules has some power behind that punch, but a black blet needs to throw at least one kick (add some versatility), rather than relying on a Mike Tyson ko punch against a man who is on his way to becoming a BJJ master.
I got Vinny to win the show!! People say his standup is bad, but he won he fight vs Rashad's brother standing.. broke his ribs with a kick!
Vinny has the potential to be a real contended at LHW, once he starts to improve his wrestling and striking I could honestly see him with the belt one day. He's like Maia at lhw
UFC CHIC, not that I care if you use caps or not, but you need to learn how to act with the other members. People are giving you advice and you are just being rude. Also there is a multi-quote button for a reason, use it and stop making posts within a minute or two of each other
your not suppose to post multiple times in a row, thats why we added the multi-quote feature, please start using it. I edited your post, thats what it needs to look like
Vinny doesn't have more potential then Bader not at all. Bader is an all american wrestler who has already rounded out his striking and submission game. Vinny isn't Maia in BJJ. He was never that good.
He is only 23 years old and carries a 3rd degree bjj black belt (Mir, Nog, Florian got 1st degree, Werdum 2nd degree belt for comparing's sake). We are talking about a world champion class bjj here, it really is just as sick as everyone says. The only question is how well he can use those sick skills on mma, and so far it seems to be working.
Im looking forward to see that too. His kickboxing skills aren't bad at all though, that gunshyness worries me though. He wont get takedowns if he isn't willing to (and able to) take a punch or 2, and no-one in house is dumb enough to just take him down either.
I agree with bbjd7 about Bader though. He has potential too and will prolly get far on mma too, but I still find Vinny more interesting and I hope he ends up getting rid of that gunshyness.
Ok I just watched the whole episode as opposed to just the fight (when I made my first post in here). Vinny does have some great BJJ. He's more a trickster than anything it seems (he pulls silly crazy shit no one looks for) and thats the reason for the gogobar, I guess. But my point still stands that I wasn't impressed by his fight at all. Like a lot of the others were saying, he may have sick as **** BJJ but that does not translate to MMA at all in his case. Eliot will beat him IMO.
Vinny's biggest obstacle is his attitude: "I don't care about the team." You improve by training with individuals, it IS a team effort to improve as a mixed martial artist. If you carry a shitty attitude about learning, then you're not going to absorb much. The guy's BJJ is legit, but MMA is an entirely different beast, and he really needs to learn how to embrace the team concept.
With a record of 2-2, I think that's pretty obvious.
