Hope this isn't a repost, looked around but didn't find anything.

"Last-minute editorial decision" softens recent "TUF" scene

The ninth episode of "The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir" was supposed to feature yet another disturbing image of questionable decision making by the fighters in the house.

But Spike TV producers apparently saw it fit to edit the scene -- depicting lightweight Dave Kaplan and light-heavyweight Tom Lawlor consuming each other's urine -- in the days leading up to the Wednesday night broadcast.

Despite several advance copies of the episode containing the original version of the scene being distributed to various media outlets and cast members, including MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com), the images did not make it to air.

Spike TV issues the advance copies of each episode of "The Ultimate Fighter" in order to assist media outlets with their coverage of the show and its cast members. This week's disc included a different version of Kaplan and Lawlor's drinking binge than what the viewers of Spike TV saw Wednesday night.

The scene was described in detail on MMAjunkie.com's "Episode No. 9 recap: 'The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir.'"

Back at the house, ousted lightweight David decides it's time to drink away his sorrows. Light-heavyweight and good friend Tom Lawlor elects to partake in the binge, and the pair wastes little time in pounding back shots of vodka. In a liquor induced exchange, David shares with the group that he still firmly believes that he can't be knocked out -- and that he will return to the UFC over and over until it happens.

Just when you thought it was safe to consume food or beverages while watching "The Ultimate Fighter," Tom and Dave decide the next logical step in their evening is to consume each other's urine. Junie doesn't understand their decision.

"Pretty disgusting," Junie says. "I don't really do that. No one I know does that back at home."

It's another (unfortunately) unforgettable moment in "The Ultimate Fighter" history.

Light-heavyweight contestant and official MMAjunkie.com blogger Ryan Bader also referenced the scene in his latest write-up.

So as the drinking reaches its pinnacle, there is a little bet going on. Somebody bet Dave Kaplan and Tom Lawler some "Rhinobucks" to take a shot of his own urine. Let me first explain these "Rhinobucks."

We had heard that Dana White and the crew take us out to a nice dinner after we get done filming the show. We had also heard that after we were done with dinner, Dana took us out for dessert -- in the form of one of the best strip clubs in Las Vegas, the Spearmint Rhino. We had heard that Dana also gives you upward of $1,000 of the strip club's own money, which are "Rhinobucks." These rumors were absolutely true, and the free dessert was amazing.

So having heard this, these "Rhinobucks" became a bargaining tool inside the house. I think the bet was something around 100 Rhinobucks to take a shot of urine. Tom was the first to accept the bet and peed in a shot glass, but before he could take it, Dave jumped in front of him and took it down. Not to be outdone by Dave, Tom then chugged a whole Solo cup of urine. Dave now, not to be outdone by Tom, starts peeing in a glass -- as does Tom once again. Not that this was bad enough, but when they get done peeing in each glass, they look at each other and switch glasses so they have each other's urine and both proceed to drink the whole glasses down. This was one of the most disgusting things that I have ever witnessed, and I was actually dry heaving. (Even though I had just ingested urine soaked fruit.)

The aired scene removed all references to urine consumption. Kaplan and Lawlor were only shown partaking in various alcoholic beverages. When contacted for comment on the decision to scrap the images, Spike TV officials issued a simple statement to MMAjunkie.com.

"It was a last minute editorial decision."

While a precise reason for the change was not officially cited, it would be hard to imagine that the mounting criticism of last week's episode -- which featured various cast members ingesting food tainted by urine, then semen -- factored into the decision.

In a recent interview with TAGG Radio (www.taggradio.com), MMAjunkie.com's official radio partner, UFC 91 fighter and cast member of the original season of "The Ultimate Fighter" Nate Quarry expressed the concern shared by many in the MMA community.

"I think that the things the guys (on "The Ultimate Fighter") are doing these days are really just embarrassing for the whole sport itself," Quarry said. "It seems like we've crossed over from athletes in an arena -- trying to prove who's the best one there -- into more of a 'Real World' scenario, or a reality show you'd see on VH1 with 'Rock of Love' or something like that.

"Where are the athletes and where is the integrity here? It just doesn't make any sense to me."

That is gross. Thumbs up to Spike and Zuffa for pulling that because honestly that is nasty.

I find the pee fruit and the jizz sushi funny but drinking your own pee on purpose isn't funny it's nasty.

Couldn't agree more with Nate. First season was my favorite. Second season wasn't half bad. Each subsequent season was terrible with the exception of The Comeback- which featured veterans of the sport. I think there should be a second Comeback season.

Am I The Only One Who Saw This!

okay so here's the deal, i saw this on the broadcast of tuf i watched, i live in vancouver, canada, and i watched it on sportsnet east which is from toronto or sumthin at 5 PM pacific, 8PM east. I guess it played uncut because isn't tuf usually shown at 7pm pacific 10 eastern. I guess that tape was the first played and was too early to be recut.

Anyway, now that me and my roomate are one of few people who saw this let me say its everybit as gross or grosser than it sounds. kaplan pees right into a cup, poours it into shot glasses than takes the shots. kaplan is going for more, then lawlor said he didnt wanna see kaplan drink the rest of his own pee, so he chugs the whole glass (at this point im gagging and it is hard to watch). then kaplan says he feels bad cause the lawlor drank his pee and he didn't get to drink the lawlor's pee. then larlor pees in a cup, and kaplan chugs the whole thing. it was one of the most disgusting things i've ever see kaplan is THE BIGGEST TOOOL!!

Well I haven't watched the show at all this season, I stopped watching after Rampage vs Griffin because the show was getting worse and worse each passing season, the only season I enjoyed watching was number 4 (the comeback). I'm glad I haven't been watching this season, it just shows how gross the losers that Dana gets to appear on that show are and it shows how disgraceful alot of newer... well I refuse to call them fighters... are, I will never watch this bullshit show again in my life. The day UFC folds will be the best day in MMA.

Well you must love the first 2 episodes then! You get to see 16 fights! Its like early christmas.. oh wait, those episodes were the most boring of this season :confused05: It seems you're the minority as this season's been getting some of the highest ratings ever in tuf.. and guess what that means? It means the ufc gets more money and can continue to grow!

People complain about, under-paying fighters, charging too much for PPVs, making fights like Randy vs Brock only for money! I'm pretty sure if you guys owned and mma organization it'd go the same way as IFL and ExliteXC fast!
