.. what the hell are you talking about? Seriously, have you even watched more than 1 Pride fight?
I hope you watched the 2 fights rampage vs Silva..
in both fights, the ref stood them up after close to 5 mins to the ground.. which is about a UFC round, so how is the UFC going to make them stand up less often? And notice in Pride, there are no elbows, so less strikes possible, meaning less action on the ground. Yet in both fights, the majority went to the ground, and Silva just crushed him after getting back up.
I just came back on this forum, and im already starting to get sick of these kind of posts.. please post about things you know, not assumptions.
If anything, Pride are less liberal about standing back fighters. Its a 10 min round, so they let fighters work their thing on the ground. In Japan, grappling is important, and they know how to appreciate it, and sometimes a little too much. Its not because the ref keeps yelling action and gives yellow card that he actually stands them up quicker.
UFC or Pride, if you dont do sh*t, they will stand you up. the difference is that in the UFC, you have the whole crowd booing you if you dont seem to be doing anything.
ANYWAYS, this fight is pretty close, both fighters have changed so much since their last fights, maybe not stylistically but mentally for sure. Neither are champions, the psychological advantage still probably goes to Silva, but i am leaning towards Quinton.. but his little driving incident makes me wonder where he is at in his head..
