If I remember correctly, Dana White announced Hughes/Gracie as a "Super Fight" in late 05 or the very beginning of 06.

That being said, what Super Fights are you looking forward to in 2007?

Liddell/Rampage 2
Sylvia/Cro Cop?
GSP/Hughes 3

Does anybody care to see Gracie fight in the UFC again? Maybe Dana would try Gracie/Couture or Gracie/Shamrock?

I think both Shamrock and Randy would both just destroy Royce these days. I really respect Royce, but I think he has lost his position in MMA.
I agree.. Royce was awesome back in the day but that's because he had other fighters ignorance on his side. I respect him for building the sport but the reason for his winning the early fights is because hardly any of the fighters knew of jiu-jitsu. A lot (but not all) of the fighters in those days were still playing around with that worthless tae-kwon-do / karate crap that's only good in movies, or worse, were lumbering technique-less fist-swingers. Today every serious mma fighter trains in jiu-jitsu and knows how to defend against it.. you have to be really athletic and good at it to win with just that nowadays. Even if Royce were in his prime today, he'd get killed in the UFCs welterweight division.
anyway back to the main topic, here's the superfights i hope to see:

Liddell / Wanderlei (pleeease happen!)
CroCop / Sylvia
Arlovski / Vera
Couture / Ortiz II (couture said wants it, if..)
Fedor vs The Predator

no i wouldn't care to see Gracie in the octagon anymore. His days are past and there are *much* better fighters around nowadays. Besides, i heard he got $400,000 for that Hughes fight... what a waste of money, considering they're paying much more promising new talent around $3000 a fight. I could see some crazy matchups set up with that kind of money.. heck, even Fedor would come in for a single fight for that much. Now THAT i'd pay to see.

I agree, I have alot of respect for Gracie because he was indeed a pioneer of the sport and an ambassador to MMA but the sport has passed him by. He has aged more than some of the other guys at his age, Hughes is not that much younger than Gracie but unfortunately for Gracie, Hughes was in much better shape all the way around. These fighters today are much more well rounded not just in fighting skills but also in Health, Dieting, and Training Techniques.
BTW - My superfight choice:
Chuck Lidell vs Anderson Silva ( granted one of them would have to move up or down in class)

Lol Fedor made over a million from Pride from the Coleman Fight. 400 000 is actually a big cut in pay for him.

I would like it if Do boy Matsui got signed into the UFC.

He beat Rampage, and a bunch of other guys. Maybe he should fight Griffin or Liddell or Ortiz or something.

Truth is, I just want to see his face get smashed in.
he didnt beat rampage, he got hit in the balls and won by disqualification  . The only other good win hes had is over pele landi. That being said, i like him a lot too.

Some fights I would like to see in 2007 are:

Chuck Liddell VS Quinton Jackson
Wanderlei Silva VS Chuck Liddell
Mirco Crocop VS Tim Sylvia
Matt Hughes VS Georges St. Pierre
Chuck Liddell VS Mirco Crocop

Theres MANY more but these are off the top of my head. If we were to have just 3 of these in 2007 i'll be a happy MMA fan :)

taekwon do karate crap that only works in movies? Two of the UFC champions are karate practitioners.
