So I want to see this match now. I believe Jardine has a decent chance in this fight, moreso then Tito IMO. The only fighter that I think has a better chance is Rampage but we will wait for that one. What impressed me most about Jardine's excellent performance against Forrest was the leg kicks. They were very hard and (I haven't heard any post fight from anyone) I think they won the fight. Forrest became very imobile after that left knee was kicked a few times. Then Jardine smelled blood and finished him. Chuck would probably win but if Jardine kicks Chucks legs a few times.......the dean of mean could be throwing some High 5's at the end of the fight. Also Jardine has a chin for sure.....that is something that will help you out a little when fighting chuck.

Jardine really leaves himself open for some nasty shots though. He might have some decent leg kicks but when he comes in he seems to swing wildly alot. I think he can take some nasty punishment though, so I would say he would at least last the first round.

sooo chuck watchs the film
sees the hole
counters the leg kicks
and puts his chin next to his sholder

....different league imo...jardine would be a good fight to watch but you have to think about how much people prepare for those fights....you cant prepare for a punch from chuck...you can prepare for a leg kick

Jardine is good but he's tailor made to go down hard against Liddell. The man will stand with Chuck, very stupid. Jardine had decent hands but the way he throws them very wide, would leave him susceptable to straights down the pipe. If Jardine fixes that problem, he still drops his head too low when he throws combos, where he would eat an uppercut. I know he can take punch and throw one, but the chance of him getting inside Liddell, like he did Forrest, is very very slim. I like Jardine, but he's not ready yet, and the way Chuck has been fighting, I don't see a guy in the UFC that could beat him right now, even with more experience. Chuck is in his own lil zone

Jardine would not last more than 3 mins with Chuck. As stated already Jardine is very wild, average stand up at best. Chuck would not even break a sweat before he knocked him out. It would be an ugly fight.

If you payed to watch it then don't go get a drink b/c this one would not last long.

Don't get me wrong, I am sure Chuck would win, he is in his own planet right now as someone else pointed out. I didn't think Jardine's stand up was sloppy at all against Griffin. I just think that:
1. Chuck has injured knee
2. Jardine can kick the **** out of knee
3. Jardine and Chuck may fight
4. Jardine may.....MAY....be able to exploit the above facts to pull off what may be one of the most stunning upsets of all time.

But he probably won't....b/c it's Chuck.

Jardine beats Forrest and ever starts talking like he a good fighter, hes decent at best Chuck would make light work of him.
I have always enjoyed Jardine's fights and I am suprised at how much improvement I saw in his last fight. The reason people weren't talking about Jardine before the Griffin fight is because before that fight the UFC was going to give him Mike Nickels....what does that tell you about the UFC's plans for Jardine. Before that he lost a decision to Bonnar that I think he won, so what does he do this Dec? He knocked Forrest out in the first round (Tito who just went three rounds with Chuck only won a close decision against the guy that Jardine knocked out in the first round). Chuck probably will make light work of him. I don't even think Jardine has enough fights in the last year to warrant a title shot but who else? One thing is for sure, Jardine at least deserves to have his name mentioned in Chuck's possible next opponent.

I think Chuck is going to drop him. But that's my answer to every opponent the UFC will throw at Chuck in 2007. I honestly don't know if anyone can beat Chuck until he retires. So do we just not want to talk opponents for Chuck? ITS CHUCK, I know he will probably "make light work" "KTFO" etc. etc.....

if jardine fought chuck he would be in for a serious ass whipping, jardine's standup is ok but he's chuck's perfect opponent, he'd stand with chuck and get his head knocked off. no disrespect to jardine but he's a b leval fighter and just cos he beat griffin doesn't mean he deserves a shot at chuck. i say let jardine fight bisping and watch bisping take jardine apart by ko in the 1st or 2nd.

Let me tell you, it is FUUUUN to play devils advocate for Jardine in this (not really) debate. I like Jardine because he trains with Diego and Rashad. He also beat Forrest Griffin. I think it is a great idea to have him fight Bisping next. I only started this thread with Jardine because there is no way Bisping is going to get a title shot in 07. I think Rashad and Bisping are both better then Jardine. But hey, Jardine impressed me with his last fight. Jardine is a B level fighter? Yeah but he looked different in his last fight and if he pulls off something similar in his next fight, I might change my mind.

Easy win for chuck.

Jardine couldn't even finish off Stephan Bonnar, and he beat Griffen because for some reason Griffen thought his chin was better than it was (griffen is a total f'ing idiot). Jardine is very slow, but he can take a punch or two, chuck will drop him in the first, and finish him whenever he wants to.

That said, Jardine seems like a cool dude, and hopefully he gets a good payday if they do fight.

I dont think Jardine gets enough credit...

I think Chuck would beat Jardine unless Jardine was lucky and landed several devastating leg kicks very early in the fight. (That would mess up Chucks mobility and base for throwing punches)

I do think though that Jardine could take Bisping. That would be an awesome fight.

I actually enjoy watching Jardine fight alot.

He was ROBBED against Bonnar and beat the living shit out of Forest. :)

I couldn't disagree more. Griffin did not lose that fight because he beat himself. Watch the fight again sometime and you will see that Forrest was dominated. Jardine went out there and leg kicked Forrest knee. You can actually see the moment Jardine realizes that Forrest can't move. Forrest took the center of the Octagon and let Jardine circle him. Jardine backed up and when Forrest didn't mount an offense you can see the moment of realization. Jardine then rushed in wildly and ended it.

This is a new Jardine. He was much quicker, more aggressive and had a totally revamped offense. I think training with Rashad and Diego have everything to do with that. I can't wait to see his next fight to see if the Forrest fight was just a fluke.

I think Jardine may do decent against Liddell, but still lose. But when does he get a title shot? What happens if guys like him, Rampage, Bisbing and Griffin fight guys like Sobral and Ortiz and lose? (Not saying Sobral or Ortiz are better than any of the above, but seem as if they may play gatekeeper for Liddell?) As for Rampage, I don't know who he fights to get his shot. Liddell might be waiting a while with all of the potential match-ups...but who knows. :dunno:

I don't mean to sound like I don't enjoy Jardines fights because the man always comes to bring it. But I really do believe that Jardines win was lucky. Every time that he threw his leg kicks Forrest answered with a few really good straight punches. Jardine threw a wild left hook and that is what won the fight for him, not his leg kicks. Now that left hook could land on a million different fighters so to say it's impossible for him to beat Chuck isn't true. But I see Jardine losing 9 out of 10 fights to Forrest. This was really the most explosive we've seen Jardine, and great job capitalizing on that punch. But no way is he ready for Chuck.
