Rumor being passed around, source is somebody in Chucks entourage saying after the Forrest fight, Chuck has been talking (semi-seriously) about a fight between him and Forrest. NOTHING has been set in stone, but again, it's being talked, and this is the first step.

This fight makes complete sense to me for a few reasons.

1) Both fighters, even though they are coming off a few losses, have huge drawing power.

2) Stylistically, this would make an awesome match up. Forrest the wild brawler with little KO power, taking on a true legend of the sport in Chuck Liddell, the former champion. Teacher vs. Student. Awesome.

3) Both fighters need to reassert themselves in the 205 division, and could use each other as a stepping stone to get back on their feet and back into the mix.

4) Chuck Liddell is still itching to step inside the octagon. He will not retire on a loss, and a fight against Forrest will bring him back into the Winners Circle.

This would be perfect as the co-main event for 104. If not it we will probably have to wait until 105, at worst 106.

This would be a great fight. A win over Forrest will really resurect Chucks career and put him right back in the mix. likewise a win over a big name like Chuck will put Forrest back in the mix. Although I really hope they give Chuck a much easier fight for his return.

Forrest isn't really a striker, he's only got one KO and two TKO's on his record, and that was against sub par competition. The guy doesn't have any real KO power against top level fighters. The only real threat he poses against Chuck is his vicious leg kicks, which are easily defended against.

The LHW division is so stacked right now, going through the opponents, everybody that's a medium to big name poses a huge threat to Chuck, except Forrest. Think about it. Yeah they could have Chuck fight Jardine again, but that's retarded, same with matching him up against up and comers like Jon Jones, useless. Coleman maybe, but he's already locked into the Tito fight, and they won;t match him up against Tito because that's also useless, he's already lost two to Chuck.

I think a fight against Forrest is great for Chuck. Chuck has a better chance of winning this fight rather than fighting against one of the top 5 LHW's (Machida, Silva, Evans, Rampage, Shogun). Also, Forrest has a route to redeem himself since Lidell is way past his prime.

I'll blindly believe this for sure. But seriously, I don't want the loser to blow their brains out or something so I hope it doesn't happen that soon. If Liddell is to fight again, I figured he would wait at least a year to give his brain a chance to recover as much as it can, and then if he felt good, he would train and fight again. It's anyones guess though.

Great fight. I say why not have this fight. Why does every fight always have to have title implications. This would be a good fight to watch - i dont care what impact it has on the divison. These two are a mile away from a title shot anyway.

Last thing u want is chcuk to fight a really lethal striker - so forrest is a suitable opponent as he is unlikely to brutally KO Chuck. This is a good fight for Forrest to come back to as well after 2 defeats.

The TUF 1 coach and student angle plus the fact they are both huge names in the sport - makes sense to have this fight. If Liddell wins he may retire with a win over a top opponent.

Would be a great fight from a fans standpoint. It's always fun to watch big names go at it, but as somebody else said earlier it's not what the UFC wants. Chuck has 1 fight left on his contract and if/when Dana let's him back in the Octagon it'll be against somebody he can easily beat. Nobody wants to see an icon go out in a free fall. It's bad enough that Liddell has lost 4 of his last 5 fights...but to end his contract and possibly his career on 3 straight losses would be devistating.

As far as Griffin goes, his next fight will probably be a guy in the 8-9 range of the top 10 LHWs. Personally I'd love to see him fight Jon Jones but I may be alone on that. It will probably be 1-2 more fights before Jones gets a legit shot at a top contender.
