mma1984 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
First fight

I have my first amateur mma fight coming up in the next few months, I have been training around a year, the rules are headshots standing but no ground and pound. Generally striking isn't my strong point, my ju- jitsu is competent but I feel wrestling is my strong point. I feel this may put me at a disadvantage with the lack of headshots on the ground.. Have any of you guys had fights with these rules? Do you think it's possible just too win from controlling on top and ground and pound to the body? any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I don't see why not. If you are on top landing strikes to any area of the body you are scoring. If you can maintain that top control your opponent is stuck trying to throw subs (and maybe some weak shots from the bottom) and as long as you aren't spending more time defending those than you are landing shots, you'll probably be fine.
