Both Alessio and Daley were connected to the demise of ProElite’s EliteXC brand earlier this month. Daley had fought on four separate occasions in different promotions under the ProElite banner while Alessio was in talks to sign with the company before opting to twice fight at Las Vegas-based “Night of Combat” events following his release from the WEC earlier this year.

Alessio has won his last two fights since being disqualified for illegally kneeing Brock Larson at WEC 33 back in March. The Canadian submitted Pete Spratt in early summer and followed up by stopping fellow UFC veteran Gideon Ray with strikes on October 11.

“I’m super excited and really looking forward to this fight,” Alessio said in the report. “This is very important for my career and it’s important for me to keep winning. Daley is a great opponent who is very athletic with good striking. It’s also great to return to Canada to fight in my home country.”

Daley had a six-fight winning streak snapped at the hands of EliteXC welterweight champion Jake Shields on October 4. The hotly-contested bout saw Shields struggle early but eventually submit Daley with an armbar in the middle of the second round.

Update 11/4 1:10 PM ET: Despite Alessio confirming his fight with Daley on his Facebook page yesterday afternoon, Five Ounces of Pain reports that the fight has not yet been signed. According to Daley, a fight against Alessio is “something that interests him but isn’t official”.

MFC continue to make decent shows...

I like this fight, hoping Daley takes it by KTFO.

Paul Daley by death. Alessio is talented but Daley is underrated and will destroy him in the stand up.

Best stand up at 170 IMO.

I wish they would put Daley vs Alves because I think Daley would trash him standing.

As soon as we put the Dida/Shogun problems behind us we seem to get along a lot more.

Nope not after how he looked in K-1.

But I will give you that he looked kinda bad against Alvarez some of those punches where just stupid looking but overall his stand up is pretty damn powerful.

That would be sick, I think Thiago is a great striker, but Daley can hit him, and when he does...KTFO

UFC NEED to get Daley.

He could become very marketable aswell.

Should stick him on TUF next season or something.

Yea they are doing WW's so he would be a good fit.

Although he would probably win every fight in round 1 unless the put some great WW wrestler with a submission game on the show.
