is 17/18 years of age to late to start a mma career?

Am 17 nearing 18 years of age and want to start a mma career. but do you think i have left it to late? i have never wrestled in high school or nothing, but i have done a bit of boxing and a bit of bjj, nothing serious do.

but i really wanna be a world class wrestler like gsp and be a world class fighter in mma.

do you think it is possible for me to become a world class fighter while starting at 17/18

any1 help

yah man Im 19 and i started at 17 and im not fighting yet...everyone at my gym tells me i have lots and lots of time...ur body doesnt even finish growing until ur 24 man so doint worry just train hard

Rampage started at around 20-21 I believe. If you work hard and dedicate yourself, you could do alright.

that's actually a great age to start at. your a little more familiar with your bodies strengths and what not. just train hard man!

Most definitely man. I started when I was 15 years old, but took a break after training for 2 years when I was 17. I had a lot of drug problems and got into a lot of trouble so found no time for MMA as I was trying to get my life back on track. I am 19 now and currently interested in training again, but I no longer live anywhere near my old trainer, who is really the only person I want to learn from or fight for. I wasted a great opportunity and he told me I had a lot of potential as well, so make sure you stick with it, because the road back to it is VERY TOUGH. You are plenty young to start though man. im 20 years old, and im just starting out in MMA. granted i've been doing martial arts since i was 6, you still got people joining mma in their mid 20's and 30's.

Haha yeah it's all good even tho I'm 17 I see people walk in my old gym who were in thier late 20s that wanted to male it big. I don't find that age will affect anything unless your old to retire lol
