Bagel 91 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Little dude

Hey guys, im new to this fourm.
My name is blake, and i weight about 117 currently, and my height is 5 foot 3 inches (yes, im a little guy), and im 17 about to turn 18 in december.

So i have a friend who currently goes to a gym and trains there in MMA. Im going to start going there because i wanted to find somthing that i could do that i enjoyed and that would help with my depression. So what i was wondering was what you guys thought about how little iam. Im not skinny either, my body type is pretty stalky, and when i worked out before i got depressed, i was about 124 pounds.
So do you guys thing being small is going to affect my training ?

thanks :]

First of all, Welcome to the forums. I hope you continue to post frequently and stick around for a long time

Okay as for the height and weight. Anyone can train in MMA, just find a partner about your weight and you should be fine. Height really does not matter at all because it goes by weight class

If you train hard you will get the technique down pretty quickly if your really dedicated.

Are you planning on fighting or just training?

Well for now, i would just like to train, but somtime in the future id like to fight. I figure i would have a hard time finding someone my size though because where i live, its pretty small.

Well depending on how serious you are. Look for a gym that will take you places. and you can travel to different fights. plus like i said before it goes by weight. and your nothing unusual

well if you plan on being serious, then take training serious. You will only get out of training what you put in. the harder you work, the better you will be.

Also inside the gym is only half the battle. Diet is VERY emportant aswell. lots of protien, fruit and water is a necessity.

Hope I could help

Just wanna say good luck and what Intermission said is pretty much right. When I trained I wasn't eating right and I regret it, I trained hard but had nothing healthy to eat so my muscles wouldnt repair as well and I only gained a couple extra pounds of muscle.

To what flaw said: i recently learned from the whole not eating right thing. i was just working out and taking protein, and i ate pretty much whatever i wanted. I worked out for about 3 months everyday; each day working a diffrent mucsle, and i only gained about 4 pounds. i went from 117 to 121. i know i could have done alot better if i would have eatan right. so when i start my class, i need to eat better ha

Yeahp thats exactly what happend to me. I would get large DQ cookie dough blizzards, mc donalds, bk, pizza, wich is all ok to have once in a while but its way better to have a nice healthy diet.
