I need help

Hey guys!
I'm Chino and I'm from the Philippines and am thinking of getting into MMA. My friend told me to take a striking martial art first so which one is the best?

I'm really not doing this so I can beat up people I'm doing it to lose weight and gain confidence. Right now I weigh 200 lbs for a 5'8 15 year old kid. I'm doing this so that I can talk to the girl I like...

Hello and welcome

To be honest don't only learn one art at a time, just take MMA classes which work cardio into wrestling, BJJ, Muay Thai and boxing/kick boxing.

But as for the confidence to talk to the girl you like, trust me on this and I think swp will come in here and confirm this because I am not a girl but I def know a lot when it comes to relationships,

You don't need to have a 6 pack and big muscles to impress a girl, its all about the personality and whats inside that counts. But this is all your choice.

Goodluck with everything and if you have anymore questions just ask

Yeah I tried looking for classes but MMA isn't really popular here. My future Muay Thai coach told me that I should just take grappling seperately.

By the way do you know any good diet for teenagers? Thanks

Hi Chino;

Try this;

1) Eat a regular, balanced diet but cut out the vast majority of junk food (soda, candy , chips, fast food, etc...)

2) Cut your current portion sizes in half. Basically you should be hungry, but not starving by your next meal.

3) Drink lots of water.

This should get you started and shouldn't be too drastic of a diet change. Once you get used to it you will want to modify your diet again to eat smaller portions more frequently (5-7 times per day). I've seen alot of posts in this site on the specifics.

Good luck with the training. BYW, Intermission is right on the girl!!!

Yes, but like everything else, do it in moderation. Ultimately getting in shape and losing weight is a calorie in vs. calorie out thing. Increasing your metabolism and exercise burns more calories. Cutting portion sizes obviously reduces your calorie intake.

IMO where people get into trouble is they DON'T do these things in moderation. For example, starving yourself is never a good idea. My earlier post about being hungry but not starving is a good way to judge food quantity intake initially.
