This is my most recent fight, which took place a couple of weeks ago. It was supposed to be the night before my birthday, but there were so many fights that I didn't get on until after midnight. Anyways, I was extremely proud of this fight, because it was the first time for several things...

It was the first time that I was able to assert myself immediately. Usually I'm in a zombie-like daze and I'm very passive until late in the first round. It was also the first time that I was able to use any type of defense. I work on my defense a lot in training, but it never showed in any of my fights. This time I was able to utilize my footwork to pretty good effect, parry once or twice, and even slip/duck a couple of shots. And finally, this is the first time that I went the distance.

I had been wondering whether or not I would be able to last the full 9 minutes and still be in good shape. I felt exhausted and sick after the first round, but I still managed to push through. What made me really proud was that I did this, despite the fact that I had been in the hospital two days prior for what appeared to be bronchitis. I was coughing up yellow and green shit even as I was warming up for the fight. (I blame my weakened cardio on that). Nonetheless, most people said that they didn't even notice that I was tired.

This was my toughest opponent to date and I was scared shitless of him and his reputation up until I was in fight mode. It was a great battle and won fight of the night!

Anyways without further rambling, here's the bootleg video I have of it. Camera man was asleep at the helm a few times, but it's the best I've got that isn't a friend's vid on FB or something.

Thanks man!

I've got my first MMA fight on youtube, which I can post here.

I never got a vid of my second fight and I'm working on ripping the vid of my third fight from this DVD that I got. I hope I can put it on because its super high quality with multiple camera angles and slow-mo replays.

I've got a 'trailer' of the DVD right here. I appear at 1:21 and it shows me warming up + the only important part of my fight.

BTW, I love your ever-changing squirrel-themed avatars. My girlfriend literally LOL'd when she looked over my shoulder and saw your Chuck Liddell one.

Great fight Kin! (the first one posted) I haven't watched the others yet but I definitely want to jump on the bandwagon and be a fan. From high kicks to take downs to staying in the pocket and firing back you've got it all. Great fight!

I've always been a genki sudo fan too. Maybe one day you'll be moonwalking on your opponents.

i'm not sure what styles i wanna do though, i wanna be good at subs and also getting off my back easy, as for striking i probably would do freestyle because i use knees, elbows, hands, feet etc., recommendations would be appreciated

nice fight! that first round was questionable, the second round you OWNED (gator roll was perfect, how did he get out?), third he knew he was in trouble so he pressed hard, then about 1 minute in you just took the will to fight from him and OWNED one more time! (i saw you looking for the arm bar from the mount for the last 30 seconds or so, which is good because you were looking for the finish even though you had already won it; killer instinct!)
a 29-28 victory for you from my personal score card.

Some Bay State Pride for you from the other side of the state!

next time you got a match let me know and i'll get me and my crew to go east to support you!

I agree, completely. My sparring partner trains the single leg a la roundhouse/straight kick catch so much I asked him if he actually knew there were other kinds of takedowns. He preceeded to laugh and double leg me.
Hahah that's a go-to for Sanda guys, though. I actually used to be really good at that myself, but I stopped practicing it for reasons unknown to me and it's no longer instinctual.

Thanks man, I appreciate that a lot! I'll be sure to let you know next time anything is happening!

As for the gator roll, I have no idea how I messed that up. I was really bummed too, since I had been working the anaconda choke a ton in training.

sweet as, oh and chris leben is freestyle
Uhhh... Trust me, Chris Leben is NOT someone you want to emulate technique-wise. He gets by almost entirely on being a super-tough son of a bitch and being able to hit really hard.
