How big is the World Cup, and the USA team, in America right now? Ive been reading that millions of Americans are watching it, and its starting to grip the nation, yet someone on another forum i post on says no one really cares?

Many of the bars and restaurants here in Austin have been having watch parties starting as early as 6AM for the first games and the turnout has been huge. The national media is picking up on more and more especially after the win but since ESPN finally decided to get off it's ass and showcase this event it's gotten more attention.
Many mainstream media and American still don't consider it a huge deal and just don't get soccer or what the World Cup means to the world and not just to the USA because they are "narrow minded, think America>rest of the World, mock anything they can't understand and are generally ignorant ****tards" IMO of course.  |

Or hates Americans, which no offense to Americans or anything but is very common from European nations.
