NFL: Baltimore vs NY Jets
![]() |
I am surprised that the Ravens are the underdogs here. I don't see them losing. Their defense looks good as usual and with them bringing in Houshmandzadeh and Boldin their offence is awesome now.
|
ravens d wont be as good this year but not sure how ggod the jets offense will be. smart bet is ravens with the odds, but jets fan must go jets.
|
there d is a little banged up but they got a lot of talent on offense especially at wideout(stallworth is going to be decent imo)and housh-your-mama is a low key pick up that is going to take this team far. going to be a great game

The Jets undeservedly made the playoffs and are given a game by Nate Kaeding once there. There is absolutely no reason for the league to be hyping the Jets other than their fair haired qb. One of the many reasons I quit watching the NFL. They suck the pee pee of teams that they want to hype and run down other teams for no reason. Not to mention they throw games and constantly modify rules to the point that they can call penalties on any play to swing the momentum to the team they favor.
Qb1 86.4 rating, 3,618 yds, 20tds, 15ints, 64.5 comp% Qb2 63.0 rating, 2,444yds, 12tds, 20ints, 53.8 comp% I don't know how to attach a spoiler so you guess which qb is Jason Campbell and which is Mark Sanchez. P.S. Sorry for the rant but I was a huge football fan but the NFL is dead to me:( |
To be fair half of those interceptions were in two games. Sanchez is sort of a west coast version of Flacco. During Flacco's rookie year he sucked for most of the game but he would make one giant 60-80 yard throw a game. Sanchez is like Flacco in the sense that he dinks and drops short passes and marches down the field. If Sanchez becomes an above average quarterback the Jets will win 13 games this season and run away with the AFC East.
So with that said....I'm going to likely bet on the safe Ravens over the potential of the Jets. |
To be fair to the team you root for let's take out the two 5 interception games from Sanchize you mentioned.
Qb1 86.4 rating, 3,618 yds, 20tds, 15 ints, 64.5 comp% Qb2 69-75 roughly, 2,444 yds, 12 tds, 10 ints, 53.8 comp% that's if two games worth of picks hit the ground. He trailed such notables in passer rating as Brady Quinn, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Chad Henne, Marc Bulger, Matt Cassell, Hasselbeck, Garrard, and Orton. He did outplay Stafford, Freeman, Delhomme, and Russell though. Yep, 28th in passer rating last season, J-E-T-S hype, hype, hype:thumbsdown: |
If you remove his two horrible games and work in averages for yards and touchdowns his numbers would look like this.
QB 77.4 rating 2,503 yrd 15 TD 11 INTs 56.9% comp Joe Flacco who did basically the same thing Sanchez did his rookie season, when he made it to the conference finals QB 80.3 rating 2,971 yrd 14 TD 12 INTs 60.% comp And for shits and giggles Peyton Manning's rookie numbers QB 71.2 rating 3,739 yrds 26 TD 28 INTs 56.7% comp And Eli Manning's numbers QB 55.4 rating 1,043 yrds 6 TD 11 INTS 55.4% comp So while it's very possible Mark Sanchez sucks, at this point perspective and patience would be wise. I'm sure the opportunity to pile on the guy will come in a few weeks. |
