Mastering the Basics - 10 Fundamental Striking Videos

Hey guys,

Here's a few videos that break down some of the key fundamentals of striking.

I really tried to share the little details that are often missed by beginning students in their training.

Sometimes with group classes, we as instructors are unable to catch and adjust a students technique as much as we would like to because of the many students learning in a class.

When working with my students at my school I really try to make sure they all first become skilled at the details explained in the videos below. Sometimes it takes a little extra pad holding for them after class or a private lesson or two to really get the details locked down but it's definitely worth it; They'll quickly develop more power, improved balance, better defense and use way less energy when striking.

Hope they help you out in your training!

The T-frame motion (so important!)

Basic Punching Motion

Acquiring the Fighting Stance

The Jab

The Cross

Four Straight

Punchout Drill (straight punches)

Lead Leg Push Kick

Alternating Push Kick Drill
