Moving and punching at the same time. Need advice!?

Ok when I Jab Cross coming directly forward so a step and jab, do I have to drag my rear leg with me to make sure I can follow up with a cross.

Also Im a south paw so Im trying what ive been told Pacman does which is to jab while stepping diagonally to my opponents left side, but it dosnt feel right at all stepping diagonally and jabbing at the same time feels very weird like the force is going all the wrong way.

Lastly when I step forward or diagonally forward with a lead cross (southpaw) how is this done properly? Do you throw as you step or after you have stepped? Or something else?

Lastly stepping in with a lead round house kick do you kick as you step in or after the step?

Many thanks!
