Use the jab to keep him from getting too aggresive and keep him at distance.
Circle away from his power hand with jabs and then come in with straight and hooks.
make sure to stay relaxed, keep your hands up and put them back up after you throw.
Going to the body is a good idea too and then go for the hed once he sets up his defense to the body. Make sure to stay mobile, don't stand still and when he rushes you get him up against the ropes, unleash to the body and follow up with hard shot to the head. Always be sure to mind your surroundings and never get close to the ropes!
If he's an elusive fighter this can be tricky. Elusive fighters tend to be constantly moving and look to parry when you throw. They also tend to constantly move away from you, then when you decide to come in and throw they come forward and hit you with shots. Same thing here; use the jab. It's the most underrated strike in fighting nowadays. Jabs can lead to power punches if you set them up right.
It would also be useful to know if he's a southpaw or orthodox fighter.
Good LUck
