What an ignorant comment, that is false and just not intelligent. Kickboxing is a direct "cousin" of Muay Thai and depending on what organization we are talking about Kickboxing does allow elbows and knees futhermore why can't someone learn kickboxing and learn knee and elbow strikes??? Just beacuse someone trains in Muay Thai does not mean they will be a better striker than a "kickboxer" just look at Lidell and Cro Cop...enough said
Most organizations I've seen that do kickboxing have rules that have no elbows or knees. Plus, doesn't Cro Cop do Muay Thai, according to his website he started in Muay Thai and moved to grappling.
My goodness. The OP is long gone. Someone should close this thread, lol.
I think everyone agrees, Muay Thai is better than kickboxing, overall. I'm not saying all kickboxer will ger their asses beat by any Thai boxer. Just saying that you'll learn kickboxing out of Muay Thai, and then some.
hmm..why can't someone who does kickboxing learn knees/elbows? Simple..because most of those dumbass cardio kickboxing instructors don't know real muay thai. American Kickboxing is mostly, western boxing with kicks incorporated. Crocop does Muay thai..not American Kickboxing. As for Chuck..I don't care....
