What personality traits,if any,make a great fighter?
Does personality play a part in it? What do you think? What have you observed? As I mentioned in another thread,I am looking into the possibility of handicapping fighters much as some computer analysts handicap horses. I am presently considering the factor of personality:Is there a personality trait or traits that are common to consistent winners? What do you think? Yes? Or no?

I'd say no, there are no specific personality traits in the fighters that make them perform better.

i think that mix of fearless and smart is good...
Fedor is example - he's never afraid of anyone, but smart enough to play it out.

I would have to say a humble, intelligent, gracefull fighter.
What in the Anderson Silva is going on here? lol

I think that the person needs to have a bit of aggression. They need to have that urge to strike back when they get hit. Some people, who lack aggression, want to just quit when they're in pain; these people wouldnt make good fighters.

Determination helps too. Without that, I don't think that someone could even make it to a decent organization.

I think having no ego is very important when training for fighting, and also dedication and determination.

No mercy. If the ref won't stop the fight, you have to keep going. (I sight mac/jon 1st fight from tuf - those elbows were brutal and some people wouldn't have been throwing them. It must have been painful to do so).

Do you watch MMA at all?

There are fighters will ALL kinds of personalities.
Some have heart, some don't.
Some are aggressive, some aren't.
Some are angry, others aren't.

Fighters span every sort of personality you could imagine.

Yes, but he wants to know if any particular personality traits can make for a better/worse fighter. Which they can.
