Ok, I watched this MANswers episode a while back and this has been on my mind for a while. First of all, this demonstration of the HIKUTA PUNCH(!!) is freakin hilarious. The guy demonstrating the punch claimed to have killed a bear with one Hikuta punch! By the way, you have to yell hikuta to serve it justice.

The Hikuta fist is a loose hand, and you hit with (I believe) the middle two knuckles. Now, it seems to me this would be a great way to break your fingers, or get mauled by a bear, depending on your current situation in which you plan to use the HIKUTA punch. Plus, the guy on the show probably weighs less than Bruce Lee. I have to say this looks like a total joke, but I'd hate to discredit something just because it was displayed in comedic fashion on tv.

So, has anyone else heard of this HIKUTA PUNCH?!

Hikuta Hand Strike

The usual striking area for the Hikuta Hand Strike is not the knuckles at all but the area between the knuckles and the first joints of the fingers.

The idea is that the hand will conform to the striking area putting max kinetic energy into the target while at the same time protecting your hand from damage.

There is a lot more involved but that clears up the striking area!

BTW- we don't scream as we strike either!
