Help! what should I take?

Lately I have been training by my self and not taken many martial arts because I had to quit.

But yesterday my brother in law was assaulted and beat up walking to a bachelor party in Cincinnati. Because of this I have decided to get back in to martial arts.

in the past I was a wrestler had privet training in BJJ and took kickboxing.

I found 2 places that fit in with my schedule.

at Louisville Martial Arts Academy I can take wing chung kempo karate bJJ and sikal ( which is a weapon style that teaches you how to fight with everyday objects and disarm people that have weapons like knives or clubs)

and it cost 110 a month

here is the schedule

at the CORE Louisvile Modern training center I can take Krav Maga which is a hardcore no hold bars self defence stye and it is 80 dollars a month.

here is the schedule I will take krav only

i have taken trial classes at both places and both places are great

Maybe go take a trial lesson and have a look for yourself. I'm sure that'll be the best way to help you decide. Most, if not all schools should give you at least one free lesson.

As for gut feeling, I would go for Krav Maga. The isreali military uses it, so I would imagine it to be pretty effective.

Well I think you should choose for yourself. I would personally choose the Martial Arts Academy.

If you are 21 or older, I would advise getting a license to carry a hand-gun. Think about this, you get jumped by afew guys, even as skilled and in shape as you are will you beat them? How about afew guys with knives or bats? How about getting mugged by a stronger, faster and more skilled fighter? What if he has a weapon?

Strength < Speed < both < skill < both < a gun

Dosent matter how big, strong or skilled the person attacking you is, unless hes superman a well placed bullet with stop him.
