I would suggest training with the 16 oz. because it does help your hand speed alot.

That is the resistance band.

Try this for your pushups as well, its pretty effective.

Also remember to work your legs out as well becuase the strength of your power also comes from your legs as well as your abs.

Sounds good. I use it alot to help with my speed and power. The pushups it helps with explosiveness so its good that you use it for that as well.

Its funny cus im pretty light and when i started lifting it was sorta to lose weight now i try and bulk up and it aint happening..but its cool.I started lifting at like 12 or so...and im not pushing insane numbers but nothing to be ashamed of.

And hes talking boxing southpaw or orthodox gotta say if you can do both do both but its more a matter of which you feel more comfortable in.
Like i feel more comfortable striking orthodox with my hands but if i wanna throw kicks heavy or takedown then im standing southpaw plus it throws people off because im right handed.

I agree with doing what your comfortable with, but if he hasn't fought southpaw he will see its a completely different expierence. Punches and kicks come from different angles and it takes awhile to get used to. I love standing southpaw because people who don't train against it aren't used to the angle that the strikes come from so its easy to hit them.
