Tips for versing someone BIGGER

I am not going to get into a fight but if I did I would like to know some tips.

I usually avoid fights but if it happens it happens.

For example there is this BIG [muscle wise] kid at my work, and thats pretty much all he has. I don't think he has ANY experience with fighting or MMA at all. I think he has crappy cardio and that his muscles are just there. He only lifts weights. He is taller and heavier than me.

I have excellent cardio and im fairly strong... good with take downs and have a extremly flexible body. I know karate/some ju-jitsu and I have very powerful kicks from soccer. I work out a lot [not just arms] I do cardio and other things.

IF we were to fight what would be the best technique for me to win, I'm sure he'll come flying at me with hands ablazing so whats the best way to stop that immediate barrage and get him to where I am good.. I think he is deffintly a lot more powerful than me w/punches.

I have NOT been in a serious fight before, not sure about him.

TIPS! thanks guys :)

You must have missed the part where the guy paralyzed his brother in an underground Kumate. :)

I had an issue with him at work and he thought it was me messing with him [It wasn't] and he pushed me and got fired, I didn't fight back because thats not my style but he always comes into my work now and like seems suspicious so I want to see some opinions on a fight like that.

Right.

You'd get your ass kicked. As a basic rule, I won't back anyone who hasn't been in a fight before, how the hell are you going to react to getting a serious blow to the face?

How much Jitz do you know?

As far as my experience goes, big guys in good shape beat up smaller guys in good shape, even if the smaller guy is a better fighter.

Cardio isn't an issue in street fights.

For instane, I had a big friend of mine who used to outweigh me at one stage by 50 pounds, and everytime we'd spar the only chance I'd have was to choke him out. I was a way better boxer than him, but he'd just thow me down, get on top and brutally pound on me till either he'd deemed I'd had enough, or I managed to catch him in something. I once caught him in a very half assed arm bar to get picked up and powerbomed directly onto my upper back/head. If it hadn't been on grass I would have gotten fucked up for sure.

that has to be the worst advice ever.

I got into an altercation with a 280 pound foot ball player and I kicked his ass and Im 170 pounds and I cut down to 155. All I did was circle and chop at his legs picking the kid apart after 2 kicks he couldnt walk any more and at that point. I hit him once with a hook that hit him in the button and he droped and I walked away.

By your lodgic Bob Sapp would have been an undefeatable force to contend with but he has gotten his ass beat by much smaller guys and hes a big guy with training to back it up.

my advice

fight dirty. Front kick to the groin they never see it coming. Use your body movements and chop away at his legs you will eventually out condition him. Bigger guys usually have far crappier conditioning then lighter guys because it takes them more energy just to move around,

there is no easy way to do it without the skill.
one of the easy ones though, i think, is to kick a guy in the inner ankle part (or calf) - it's super painful (sure you know form soccer)
i would try not to go to ground there, unless again there is skill

agree with TheNegation here

I'd also generally advise against any form of unsanctioned fighting. Just thought I'd point that out.

This thread reminds me, last time I was in a mess fight a few weeks ago, this friend of mine who matches up pretty evenly with me size and strength wise chased after me for stealing his beer(we were drinking in a park), I took him down and he threw me off him and in the resulting scramble I take his back as he stood up, all badass and Aoki like. Anyway as I am there getting ready to start choking him or whatever, the guy leaps into the air and falls directly back, landing with his entire bodyweight crushing my crotch against my body. I proceeded to lie in the foetal position for about five minutes, it was ridiculusly painful.
So yeah, no more drunken Jitz for TN for a while.

you want to not make it a punching match... avoid a few punches then get in close to where u can hide your face and body lock him and take an angle... form there u can work some kind of a takedown .. watch some of royce gracies older films wen he goe sup against a huge guy i think ive seen him utalize this technique before

Rules are for sports.

If you have to fight him fight him to win.

He's in front of you do not let him get the first hit. Bring both of your hands up to your face, palms facing outwords and say I don't want to fight you man. By the end of the sentence if his hands are down at his waist as most dumb bitches who are begging to be knocked out are, I want you to hit him in the face as hard as you can. If you land clean you could knock him out or at least rock him to hell, from here you are going to pounce on him and he is not going to recover from the initial attack.

lol sorry you had to read all that. Go to your local uncle sams etc, buy some pepper spray. He wants to fight you, you spray his ass. If no one else is around stomp him a little bit, leave and immediately call the police or find a police station and make a formal report against him. Followed by a restraining order.

Go find a gym. Learn to fight. Stop asking stupid questions.

Failing that - kick him in the nuts, punch him in the solar plexus/throat, knee him in the kidneys, elbow him in the back of the head or use t3h d33d1y crane kick. Is impossible to block if do right.

Best thing for you to do is to avoid the fight but if you had to fight him then i would suggest inside leg kicks. They hurt the most, and to someone who most likely has never had any training they would be crippling in my opinion. But keep in mind also that if you can land them you might be close enough to get punched, if he is as big as you said he is he'll most likely have alot of power behind his shots, best to dodge them, or block them. My first piece of advice holds the most merit i think, follow it till you can't any longer.

Since this thread is now completely off topic, let me ask this:

Is anyone else tempted to respond to the TS by saying, "Make sure they can memorize lyrics, and that they big guy can hold a note before you go about 'versing' them."?

Maybe it's just me?

Uh, he outweighed me by 50 pounds roughly, it was like 4 stone. Have you ever rolled, sparred or played rugby with someone with that kind of weight advantage? He was also a lot more powerful and quicker than me over short distances, I'm built like a middle distance runner, this guy was a tank.

Just because my boxing is/was better doesn't mean I am a great boxer, hell my striking in general still sorta sucks. He was just a wild fighter who dealt in haymakers.

Any other questions?

Actually, yeah. I weigh 180lbs and I'm regularly set up against the 240lb former golden-gloves boxer that goes to my gym. Really, the only advantage it gives him is when we're rolling, and even then it's not that big. I'm smaller, so I'm quicker. I use good footwork to keep the fight going how I want it to go. Does he occasionally land a good shot? Yeah, but not before I've landed five or six of my own.
