Bad: You drop your hands during and after a punch, your head swings side to side predictably when you punch, you're not rotating your hips enough when you throw your cross, you're not rotating your hips enough when you throw your hook, you don't tuck your chin when you throw, and try to throw in longer combinations.

Good: You retract your punches quickly after you throw them, you're punching through the bag, you're hitting with the first two knuckles for the most part and your kick(s) are solid from what was in the video, as long as you remember to keep your hands up.

you predictably wind up for every single punch and everything you throw comes from your sides. I'd like to see you stand more at an angle to the bag as well.

the biggest problem of all that I saw is the lack of balance. You looked like a small shove would knock you over.

I'm not sure because of the poor quality of the video but it looked like your rolled your wrist on the first cross. That's never a good thing.

just constructive criticism. overall for not having any standup training it doesn't look too bad.

my solutions to your problems:

1: Fix your stance!!! Shoulders up chin down and more angle. I like to keep my back foot perpendicular to the bag and point my leading foot at it. Raise up your shoulders and tuck your chin into the pocket it creates. Keep your hands UP. there's no reason to drop your hands when punching, constantly protect your face.

2: start throwing bread and butter combos. jab-cross-hook, jab-cross-leg kick, jab-cross-hook-leg kick-clinch, jab-cross-leading elbow.

3: after you've familiarized yourself with a few combos start trying to rotate yourself around the back in both directions while throwing them. If you feel off balance you are off balance.

That's what I've got for you for now. I hope more people will give you some tips on how to fix your technique. What I've told you isn't the only way. There's a lot of different stances and styles that are still right but what I've given you is a pretty good starting point.

Ok, I would suggest going to a boxing gym etc

1. You need to fix your stance, im going to assume your a righty.

a. When you face the bag your left foot should be forward and should aim past the bag going right. Your right foot shouldnt be at a 90degree angle away from the bag but more angled away than your left. Imagine a straight line going from your left foots big toe to your right foots heel. Your feet should be about your shoulder length apart.

b. Keep your hands up. Your left hand should be at your cheek and your right close to your chin.

c. Bend your knees a little bit, you want to be able to step forward with your jab or go side to side to simply hop away from your opponent.

d. Keep your chin down and tucked, if you have to take a punch your best spots to get hit above the neck are the forehead and the top of your head as they are the most resilient and will cause you the least damage.

2. Combinations

a. Practice your jab - when you jab its called a 1 - i like to step forward as I jab. It should be crisp and fast as fast as it goes out is how fast it should come in.

b. The right cross called a 2 - your essentially throwing a right punch but your twisting into it from the hips. When you throw this your left hand should never leave your cheek and by twisting into this you are protected from hooks but you have to watch for straights and uppercuts, this is best used in combination after causing them to cover up with your jab.

c. The 1, 2 - step forward Ljab (bring it right back to your cheek) with a right cross. Step back to avoid the counter.

d. The 1, 2, 3 - Ljab (bring it back to your face) + right cross (bring it back to your face) + Left hook. This combination though simple is amazing for starters, it works best when you use the momentum from your cross and explode into a left hook.

3. Head movement, bobbing and weaving - You need to keep your head moving but change it up if you move the same way everytime you'll end up leaning into the end of your fight.

Get in front of a mirror and practice ducking, movement and try to find how you would anticipate your own movements and then change.

Im going to short you on basic footwork, hand wraps, kicks etc etc because im lazy :P

but that should be a good start. also if ive made a mistake someone correct me

you are pretty much good jus concentrate on technique more than power and you will be good also fight in a lower wider stance since it allows u to sprawl and defend against takedowns. Other than that your strong as hell keep up the good work

you need a LOT of work bro but dont feel bad I have NO ground game myself.
Ok I'll start with the good, and try not to repeat anything from above.
GREAT power... your punches are solid and powerful, but wild. Try to have more control over your punches you dont wanna fall on your face if you miss.
turn your fist over on the cross, that adds torque to your punch and snap it which youre almost doing already. But snap your hand right back to protect your face.
Dont drop your other hand when throwing a right your left hand should be near your face.
I cant say much about your kicks, you threw a good one, but it was the only one i saw. But at least it was good.
thats about it pretty much everybody else had good advice for you so there aint much that hasnt been said. Keep it up train hard, youre 144 so in a different weight class but i been mma training for about 2-3 months also, maybe I'll see you in the cage!!!

Let me compliment you on your boxing. Very nice. I saw very little things you could improve on. You have been training boxing for years and it shows.

@op this guy is a boxer, watch his hands, body and head movement.

I don't know if its been said yet, but you want to keep your chin tucked in, and when you throw your straight punches, you want to keep it way tighter(less loopy and open) and create a relationship between your shoulder and your jaw(so that when your arm is extended your jaw(that is wide open when you're swinging) is protected by your shoulder.

Also, You want to train technique before speed and power. If I were you, I'd stop throwing absolutely everything into it, because if the technique is not there then you're just getting better and better at doing it wrong ( ). Throw slow over and over again until its pre-programmed. That way, adding speed and power will come easy because your technique will be drilled into your brain so muh that it just comes naturally.

I'd also advise to not train combos until you're getting some kind of professional teaching. Stick to learning the basic punches by themselves and once you're pro at that, you can start adding them together.

Good luck

Bad:
1. When you punch you drop your hands so it becomes predictable when you're about to punch
2. When you punch you drop your hands so it's easy to hit your face.
3. I didn't see much hip movement.
4. You swing your head from left to right when you punch, which makes my punches even better when i connect on the side that you're swinging your head to.

Good:
1. You're punches look like they have alot of power behind them.
Get some real stand up training behind you, and you'll be fine on the feet.
