yea likes its more to prevent a counter punch. If I wanted to improve my striking skills from a technical stand point who should I study?

These are some of my favorite strikers to study...

Ernesto Hoost
Pedro Rizzo
Mirko CroCop

Just about any of the top guys in K-1 are very proficient strikers and are great fighters to watch and get standup technique from.

Paw has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Did you see the most recent K1 event look at chalid 'die faust' he knocked his first opponent out in 21 seconds of the first round not through force as he was the lightest competitor in that event. He had some brilliant combos

He started out a K-1 Grand Prix contender, and has moved on to fighting in Pride's HW division. He's got the most lethal Left Foot in history.
