I like the Japanese Jujitsu more than BJJ for a few reasons. I'm a bigger guy and I like the throws and takedowns in J3 more than BJJ's. And besides BJJ is more sport oriented than J3 which, if taught correctly, teaches exactly the same way the Japanese army used to train to beatdown Samuri, and thats just pudding.

I also find that I enjoy the rigidity of Karate versus straight up MMA or even the more applicable MT. The throwing ten damn thousand punches and kicks walking the floor and the multi-step sparring helps build up the muscle memory of guarding and countering.
It does. I wish it wasn't the best way of building muscle memory, because it makes my sense of humor plummet, but it probably is.

Currently just boxing (does self-taught count?).. although I did karate a few years ago (4-5 years..) in which I got up to orange belt then I stopped. Recently I've been thinking of starting again (would have to start from white since it would be a different school) but I'm also considering some others.. such as TKD, or Muay Thai, just don't think i'm fit enough right now for either of them.

I know the feeling. A friend of mine feigned a jab at me once and I locked his forearm and punched him in the head on sheer instinct. It screws up silly stuff like that, but it works wondering in the ring.

TKD on and off since I was young and I still do classes every now and then. Currently mainly training in Kick Boxing and Hapkido. Also occasionally (when I have free time) do a bit of Jiu-Jitsu and Judo.
