The belt system creates more and more of a time suck as you go up in level, particularly if you have an instructor who is big on memorization. I took the summer off, because my daughters (my younger one takes TKD with me) are both playing soccer and there's a scheduling conflict with TKD.

I tained TKD for as while in high school then quit, surfing , chicks and partying was more important. Took Muay Thai from 94 to 99 then started shootwrestling in 97 so I was doing 2 things. kept submission wrestling going till 2007 at all different schools, got a bluebelt in BJJ but didnt go any farther cause half the shit they teach you to get to the next level doesnt really work to well IMO and couldnt stand the gi, but I have tapped a couple of Brown Belts. Practiced Muay Thai with some awesome guys, Phil Nurse trained with us on occasion and got to roll with Joe Moriera and Gokor Chivichyan. Nowa days I just do a MuayThai workout in a boxing gym 2times a week for fun.No more injuries except I tore a calve a month ago jumping rope.

That's some resume. How old are you?
Anyway to answer the original question, I've been training Judo for two years now. As if everyone didn't know already...
I trained Kyokushin Karate when I was a kid, but very shortly.

Judos cool when Gokor came to our place for a seminar he taught us the right way to use the butterfly guard, that was before the rubberguard was invented, he was soo good he just played with us and only tapped a couple of guys (cause thay were arrogant) I think, the rest of us he was easy on cause we were cool. Im an old guy ill be 37 this year but still try to be young, at heart anyway. And I was never great at any discipline, just loved doing it. All the people in my life who I ever trained with have Quit and dont follow MMA anymore so this place and you guys are the only people I can even talk to about any of it, that Im grateful for.I try to post a picture of my ugly ass but I dont seem to be able to get the right size photo for the member photo thread. Not great with a computer.

Have you got, like, your own style mixing these different styles together? Like Fieos-Jitsu or something?
