ahh your friend sounds a lot like me, very fast and hates to get it. move, dont dedicate to one punch just work on speed not fight ending shots. keep your hands up, stick and move. jab and move, and keep doing that. he will burn himself out or put himself in a bad position if he chooses to continually dodge jabs. he'll need to block, meaning your connecting even if it is his glove. now add in a cross and move. you jab and cross, if he blocks your either going to hit him, or hes going to hit himself with his glove or hes going to burn himself out by running away. If you have better stamina just tire him out, a tired boxer has powerful/slow hands a boxer without power still has the other and he will not be able to run anymore.
If this is a no rule thing, and he wants to counter you. kick. and he will get tired of this, he will get tired eventually or he will try to counter by coming forward this is where you play counter puncher and stop the fight. or he will try to kick you back, and thats what you want him to do, when he kicks come forward as fast as you can and right cross. i could probably escape you coming forward without getting hit but it would take a lot of energy and finesse.
or hit up a gym for a few weeks, dont tell him and smoke the shit out of the guy.
