sorry its just ive tried this stuff and it wont work. wer sposed to be sparring controlled i keep telling him to work on technique but he just keeps swinging wildly i got pissed off and just let my right hook catch him on the side of the face and he fell on his arse and was all dazed fo the rest of his training.im looking for a way to still spar with him but i dont want to get hurt and i dont want to hurt him

pick a new sport.... if you guys are sacred to get hurt

to work on technique, you do drills(heavy bag, mirror work, mitts, jab tag, onesided drills, etc.)

sparring, they way you guys are doing it is kinda useless, the idea of sparring to to get used to punches coming at you, and to find out what your leaving open while looking for openings on your partner, if your partner does not work with you, find another, don't ask how to change his attitude when he spars..

and trying one day on something does not give it the chance to take form with you.

i would love to spar harder but i have a life outside of training and cant afford to get banged up yet.in june 2007 im going to thailand for a month to train mma so while im there ill go hard as and it wont matter if i get banged up a little

have fun kick bannana trees, and eating rice. them kids over there are gym raised, and very tough...

i will start going to bjj after christmas i have been trying to fo r a while but i like the standup im doing at the moment and will start to train a bit harder soon i think i mite just let him beat on me then start counter punching i need to work on defending anyway.
