corporate job and training

I have wanted to for the longest time practice muay thai, or moreso boxing to start. The problem is I work in a corporate environment where I am in front of co-workers/boss/new people etc. on a daily basis. I also have to go out on business meetings and meet new clients.

My question is....how many of you are in the same situation and worry about bruises/black eyes/etc at work and what is the best approach for someone in my profession to go about taking up one of these sports? I'm 26 btw, so I'm not some old businessman

I have the same issue. Wear headgear if necessary and emphasize to your training partners that you can't afford to go into work with shiners, etc.. Plan your intensity levels around your next few days of work and go a little lighter. Unfortunately though, if you do end up sparring/grappling you will get some abrasions, bruises and whatnot. Its part of the sport.

Hope this helps.

thanks man, yea that makes sense although telling my partner to go easy is lousy for him though, especially if he wants a good session. Guess I could try to avoid sparring any more than light except for friday nights or something
