This is bothering me when I work on the heavy bag. When I first started out, I screw up both my wrists on hard punches. On both occasion, I was throwing hard hooks. My fist landed, but my wrist was not strong enough to take the impact and it bended in a way that it shouldn't be. I stretched out something in my wrist beyond its limit(forgot what they call it). I was dumb and didn't wrapped either cuz I'm lazy

.
Well it healed up pretty well and its a lot stronger now. I can throw the same punch even harder with no problem. The thing that bother me however is how should I be positioning my wrist/first. I can't seem to find a comfortable position where it feels natural and feel like I got some power behind it. I've seem people turn their arm in with the back of their fist facing them upon impact. This does not feel natural for me and it seems weak. Then I've seem people just hook as is without rotating upon impact (finger side toward you). This feel more natural and stronger, but less range. I practice a lot, but it just doesn't feel as natural as throwing straights.
Maybe I should just ask how do you hold your wrist/hand for punching to make it simple. My instructor is a grappling guy so he doesn't know any of this stuffs.
