Look dude, I am 6'5" and currently weigh about 320 pounds. I have read alot of the previous posts, and while I agree with some I very much disagree with others. First off, trying to take me down to the ground would be a fatal mistake and I think you trying to take any big man down is very bad advice and a very good way for you to get seriously injured. Street fighting and MMA are 2 totally different animals I know I have done both and I teach self defense classes. You want to stay on your feet at all costs, because as long as your on your feet, you always have a chance to run for your life. Here are a few things I would suggest.
First thing when confronted, keep your distance. You don't want him to be able to reach out and grab you. With that said, if he doesn't have a hold of you, theres no reason you can't run. Unless ofcoarse you have resigned yourself to finally fighting him and hopefully getting it over. Put your hands up immediately and keep them up. Not in a gesture that looks like your talking a boxing stance, but rather with open hands, held up high, make it look like your just gesturing alot with your hands while your talking. But this way your hands are up if he does attack and your already defending yourself. Why give them a first shot. If you were going to run, I would suggest a kick to the shin or good foot stomp and run like hell, but if you have resigned yourself to fight, then don't wait. Attack him while he has his hands down and is talking his smack. I would say to aim for the throat and give it everything you have. Once you start, don't stop, Just keep pumping those punches in there until he either drops or he starts fighting back. A hard punch straight into the nose will break most peoples noses. It bleeds alot and for the average joe on the street, that drains all the fight right out of them. If he goes down, do not go down after him. Kick him. Kick him until you are either tired of kicking him, or until you are absolutely sure that he will not be getting up to fight anymore but also that he will never want to fight you again. If at anytime after your first punch he tries grabbing you, pull away and reestablish your distance. By your distance I don't mean the distance you can connect with a punch or kick, I am refering to a distance where he can't hit you. At this point you just want to avoid being hit or him grabbing you. This is a good time for low leg kicks. Nothing higher then his knee. Just keep trying to kick his knee cap clean off. Even if you are shorter, you leg is probably longer than his arm so you can use this tactic well while keeping your distance. Remember, at all times, your hands are up. If the opportunity arises to punch again, take it. Don't hesitate and again go for the throat or nose and do it just like last time. It would take hours to explain what to do in a clinch or if he grabs hold of you and gets you down. I will say basically, attack anything you can If you can put your hand on his face, then dig your fingers in his eye. Try to pop that eyeball right of hie head. Like someone else said grab his balls and squeeze. Think weapons... are you carring keys? use them as a weapon. Hold the keys with a key being gripped and sticking out the bottom of the fist, and hammerfist strike to the face should cut him up pretty badly. Always be looking for a way to get loose, get up and reestablish the distance.
