Favorit Combinations

Ok we had a pretty popular How do you Shoot a Double Leg thread and I decided to post this, the thread may well have been done before if so I'm sorry but we do have people new to the forum so it wont killus to have a second topic about it if we already do have one.

on the Outside I like
* Jab Cross Rear-LegKick
* Jab Cross Lead-Elbow
* Jab Cross Lead-Hook (Head or Body depending)

Inside
* Body Hook Body Hook Head Hook (it can go Lead Rear Lead or Rear Lead Rear)
* UpperCut Hook
* Body Hook UpperCut

Clinched
* Not somuch combinations here as I like to vary my attack between Elbows and Knees and not just get caught up throwing one repetitivly, once I have them thinking to defend the one area I attack in aother

For boxing, I like

jab-jab-rear uppercut (but I dont utilize it enough)
jab-cross-shovel hook-cross
jab-shovel hook-cross
jab-jab-body cross (i prefer it to the body, but i usually go to the head out of laziness)

on the inside I like

rear uppercut-lead hook
lead hook-rear uppercut

For kickboxing

inside leg kick-jab-cross-outside leg kick
jab-inside leg kick
jab-sidekick
jab-cross-rear leg kick
stepping cross-hook-body kick (i fail at it, despite liking it)

Highly opinionated but out of touch with the current MMA scene.

On the outside:
Cross-jab-lead leg kick
Jab-cross-lead hook-cross
Jab-cross-lead elbow-spinning back elbow (f*ck the situational nature of spinning back elbows, I love 'em!)
Feign lead leg kick-spinning heel kick

Transitioning to the inside:
Feign jab-cross-lead hook
Jab-cross-uppercut-knee

Inside:
I really dislike being inside, so here its more of, set up a body clinch/dirty boxing, or get back to my straight punching range.

Clinch:
Dont really have any kind of plan here. Just knee, elbow, punch, and heel kick until I can get the takedown or the round ends.

I use J J BC a lot and the RU-LH so we have similar Boxing ideas I think so I'll ask you, what benefit have you found utilizing Lead Hook Rear Upper Cut? the combination dosn't really 'flow' as with the reverse combo

Left hook is my go-to punch and I have a tendency to spam it without rhyme or reason, so I just wanted something to go after it and I don't have a very good short cross so the uppercut just made sense to me. Though, to me it flows about as well as its opposite...

As for benefits, sometimes the middle will open up when people are worrying about hooks, and most people expect a cross after a hook so the uppercut can sneak in there unexpectedly.

I'll have to consider trying it, I used to be addicted to the Lead Hook as well. Didn't really matter if it made sence to throw it or not, I just did.

Any day I can throw a spinning back anything is a good day.

A lot of my standup drills are at about 50% with other women, and nooobody expects the cross/hook or cross/uppercut. Or a switch kick; I love switch kicks.

I can't even sleep because of this Rashad injury thing

Um, I throw more punches than somebody who does Muay Thai normally would, so my favourite combinations are very punch orientated.

My go to one would probably be a very conventional 1-2-left hook. Sometimes I follow with a leg kick to the thigh, but most of the time I don't. But yeah, that's my favourite and most successful combo. Never forget your basics is what I have had drilled into me.

I usually start from a southpaw stance even though I'm right handed, it's probably from my JKD training when I was younger.

From the outside:
lead straight* - jab - left straight
lead straight - jab - left hook to the body
jab - left hook fake - spinning back kick

From the inside:
GTFO, I don't belong here!
Take one step back to switch to orthodox stance, then right straight - left hook and open the range to get back on the outside

Clinch:
knees to body - uppercut elbow - horizontal elbow

*the lead straight is similar to the way GSP throws his long range power jab.
