Anyone doing Crossfit?

Does anyone work out at a crossfit gym? I'm in pretty good shape and my gym has several very good conditioning classes, but I'm considered adding on an extra cardi/strength work out.

I don't but I have a friend who does it regularly and it works great for him.

Does he do any martial arts/MMA?

For me a lot of the traditional squat/bench/deadlift stuff makes me really really tight and I feel super heavy on the mat. I've seen some videos and they seem like they do a lot of explosion and what not.

Cross fit is intense...we probably done half of that in a regular MMA conditioning class and I was out! Check out the Spartan workout...fecking ridiculous!

Benefits of cross fits is conditioning of course and fast twitch muscles. As you said it's all about quick bursts and exploding...but keeping it up for prolonged periods of time. I don't understand how GSP goes at full gas tank for five rounds straight. He's one of the few who looks the same as he does in the first round and of course the Diaz Bros. It's the equivalent of sprinting for 25 minutes.

Best conditioned athletes in the UFC.

- GSP
- Diaz Bros
- Diego Sanchez
- Bendo
- Edgar
- Clay
- JBJ
- DC
- Cain for a HW. I think he's one of the few HWs who can sustain all five rounds at full speed.

Anyways let me know how it goes...

Marcus Aurelius: Tell me again, Maximus, why are we here?
Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Baked, not fried... the healthy choice.

He has dabbled in it. Hee boxed where did before he did cross fit and he has said that his cardio and explosiveness is a lot better now that he does cross fit full time.
