Muscle conditioning

Well, i'm going to try out for "Dragonboat" at my school next year and they require you to run alot and then right after do like 100 pushups.
I can do that cardio part on my own, but i guess, what i'm really asking is, for the pushup part, like i can do 100 pushups but my arms after 50-60 they start to get really tight and cramped. I'm gonna do this regulary now, But do you guys recommend anything else i can do to make it better?

I guess you could use weights and do chest exercises, such as bench press or flyes with dumbbells.
